Stopped in Cabelas today - saw TGO1 #1
It was pretty cool
The TGO1 is one of my favorite 1911s and since its introduction over 10 years ago, I believe only about 200 have been built.
In the Gun Library at the Hamburg, PA Cabelas sits the first TGO1 built with serial number RL10001. Mine is number 44.
The price was $3999

I didn't buy it guys. I've already got one
It would be cool to have the first, but not for $4K.

I just did a quick search on gunbroker. I didn't find any listed. What are they going for?

That is pricey but for a #1 it would be nice.

I think retail price from Springfield is about $3200. However, I don't believe they make them very often. I believe they build them in small batches.

I agree 100%. I've always wanted one for the cool factor, and #1 would definately be the definition of the cool factor, but for $4K, no way for me.

I always wondered what they did with number 1. $4k is too steep for me too, guess I'll have to settle for #8.

True. It's probably priced about right for what is, the times, and how hard they are to find.
It looked brand new as well.

That's because you don't have rare 1911 seeking radar like bac does...

It's actually the first I've ever seen in a shop, Greg. With so few built, the chances of seeing one are very slim, even in a store like Cabelas.

It's in great shape, Don.
Cabelas does 25% down and 60 days too.

I didn't handle it, but it looks new. I'm sure it's been fired though.
It would be cool to have the first one.

If I didn't already have one, I'd be all over it. Any TGO1 is awesome, but #1 would be that much more cool. Springfield must have put a ton of work into #1.
