Went to the HQ, fantastic!!

GLOCK is fantastic!! I went to GLOCK HQ in Smyrna, GA. Went there to have my sites replaced with night sites, and the mag. release changed to lefty. While I was waiting, the guy next to me told me that they would change out my Gen. 4 GLOCK 19's 15 round mag. bottoms for extended 17 round bottoms for free if I asked. I did, and they did!! Fantastic! Then it gets better! They run the serial numbers of my other GLOCKS, and give me an annual GLOCK magazine (you read, not mag.), a GLOCK 17 key chain, with a very detailed model 17 hanging from the key ring, a GLOCK pen, and GLOCK pencil, and a neck lanyard thingie to clip ID's or something, all for free!! It was great! I now have three 15 round magazines turned into 17 round magazines, and the free swag! And they were so nice!
Also, they are building a factory across the street to manufacture GLOCKS in the US. Soon all GLOCKS sold in the US will be made there, that's what they said. They also said that of last week when I was there, they were 1 million guns behind, I had heard 600K backordered from dealers. Now it's a million! I HIGHLY recommend going there if you are passing through Ga.

Thanks for sharing the experience! I definitely want to make a trip up there soon (I live in Florida, so it's not too bad a drive). Heard that while you cannot really see much, that it's still a cool place to visit (there are a couple of other things in Georgia that I want to check out also).

They are doing the foundation from what I could see, it's just across the street. The gift shop is dangerous to your CC! Tons of GLOCK stuff, including this cool laser acrylic cube of a GLOCK 17 in 3D. Totally cool! Then there is all the clothing, and holsters, etc. VERY dangerous to your CC! Tons of cool stuff! GLOCK knives, the GLOCK shovel, key chains in plastic (which I got for free) to gold plated ones, and tons of shirts, sweaters, bags, etc. I am unsure if I want a USA made GLOCK, or an Austrian made one. But it will be a while before they are making USA GLOCKS. I have to say, there are restrictions (ATF) on what they can import from Austria, so maybe, some pretty cool stuff, made in the USA! Well worth a visit, even to get your 15 round mags. changed to 17 rounds for free. Awesome customer service!

Cool deal. But Glock is already making Glocks here in the USA. My G19 Gen3 was made here in December. Ron

Wonder where it was made? The factory they are building is at the foundation stage. I am talking of the new factory at Smyrna, Ga. HQ. I don't understand how you have a US made GLOCK. Unless they are making them in another State. Never seen one in a store stamped USA, just AUSTRIA.

Wonder if they will make the .380 Glocks here? I don't really want one but it would be interesting. I think the .380 fad has kind of run it's course.

GLOCK already has a factory in Georgia that it's used to make pistols for years; however, these pistols were meant for export to countries that couldn't trade with Austria. However, in the last few months, GLOCK has been making guns in that factory to sell to the US market to try and catch up (as they are more than one million pistols behind in production). So it's been very common for some parts of the country to be selling USA-made GLOCKs (some gun stores report 50% of their GLOCKs coming in are USA-made). The new factory is simply to increase the amount of pistols that can be made in the US, and it's supposed to be able to do that by a significant amount. Hopefully with the new factory GLOCK will be able to catch up with production to satisfy demand.

Glock has been making Glocks in Smyrna,GA for several years. What you saw was the production facility expansion, which will double production capacity in the USA.

"Made in USA" works for me! (I have a G19 Gen 3 born in the USA on Dec 2012)

Everything I see (except for Glocks) seems to "made in China" today...

Do you need an appointment or just walk in to get adjustments to your pistol?

From what I have read here, I would be happy and proud of a Glock made in Georgia; I would feel the same about a Mercedes from Alabama or a Honda from Ohio.
