recommendations on a spotting scope?

hey guys

im in the market for a spotting scope. mostly for nature watching, but might take it to the range on occasion.

would like to stay under $400 ideally.

found a few on amazon, but im not up on brand names. without knowing any more than i do, i saw two that interest me...
  • Alpen 20-60x80 for $367
  • Celestron 52252 100mm for $269

any thoughts on what brands/specs to look for and those to avoid?
