Where are psychopaths most common?

It's known that psychopaths are disproportionately represented in the ranks of business leadership. Also, it's known that psychopaths like to rise to positions of authority. Hence, we find them leading business, churches, hospitals, etc.

But at the same time, a lot of poor people carry on like psychopaths.

Where is the higher concentration? In the ranks of the upper classes, or the lower classes?

Look at the people around you. If they all look normal then you are it.

The best place to find them is in military leadership for the reasons you have already mentioned.

Certain jobs require certain character traits whether we like it or not.

Lower income groups. Because the difference between being eccentric and being diagnosed as mentally ill is a question of income level. The cat lady pushing the shopping carriage who has not bathed in a week is not eccentric, she is nuts. The guy who built this airplane had enough money to be eccentric.

Just because I drink a lot and talk to myself doesn't mean I'm a psychopath.

I'm surprised to see surgeon on the top list. Chef maybe. The rest I would have guessed as listed.

Obviously never received a bill from a surgeon.

Not at all. Surgeon makes perfect sense. Gotta be able to do his job without emotional investment in the outcome of the patient.

I'd expect oncologists to be there as well.

I've had six surgeries in the past four years. Both surgeons were very confident in their abilities but also very polite and well liked by their long terms staffs. I'm actually surprised at how little they get of those $40k bills. But I agree, they can't become emotionally involved. My BIL, a veterinarian, is emotionally detached from his patients. I've lost sleep over some of his patients. I hate to see people or animals suffer.

My thought was the clergy and churches. I see they are number eight on that list. Interesting. We only know of some of their crimes and we know the church covered up even more.

The surgeons that have worked on me and the Mrs over the years were nothing like the character in that movie. I would have gone looking for another surgeon if any of them were. I'm sure there are plenty not far from that character though. Not a job for the faint of heart.

I'm a nurse, and the voices have always warned me about surgeons!

Curious thing about the list, all psychopaths are employed? Maybe the cat lady just fell in the middle, I guess.
