You are probably correct.

Maybe, all if this buying up if ammo has to do with certain friction with a country that will not be named but rhymes with "forth Garcia." Maybe they don't want to make their intentions public because of the possible consequences.

Or maybe they are going to kill us?!? O: not likely.

I'm talking about the government. Not citizens. A war with N Korea would no doubt spark something not too short of a world war. A lot of people have stakes in both sides and I think many countries would get involved.

Panic when DHS stocks up on rifle, machine gun, mortar, artillery, and tank rounds. How many tons of JDAM and or CBU's plus Napalm did they order?

I just keep checking back on this thread because I am fascinated by the title.

"Mommy, how much is five?"

I admit that I was tempted to say "Just imagine 3.2 billion and divide that in half"

probably because that's only the calibers they are making to fill the order.

1.6 billion rounds to a non-military federal agency is ALOT of bullets, 2700 mine-resistant armored trucks for DOMESTIC (as inside the United States) is ALOT of protection for home raids, and the new DHS rapid response teams (modeled after SWAT teams, but slightly higher firepower) coming online makes a sensible person pause to consider what's up...

as far as ammo shortage to general public and even some police departments...hhmmm; manufacturers diverting resources and allocating more production capability to federal government contracts, bulk buying of ammo by civilian gun owners (increased in numbers in the last few months), and a depletion in the stockpile of available raw materials to manufacture ammunition ALL CONTRIBUTE TO THE CURRENT AMMUNITION SHORTAGE

Except it isn't 1.6 billion, and it isn't 2700 MRAPs, it is 16. Look for the thread about the Breitbart article.

1.6 billion rounds is enough to wear out two glock pistols.

Nope just the recoil springs, I just passed 1.1 billion with my Glock 19 and the potent 147gr nuclear warheads.....
