I may have all this figured out. Stevie - were you a soulless ginger redhead before you turned grey?

Damn. I just gave this post some consideration.

Did you have any of those "candyass of the month" awards I printed up that you could give him?

I saw the bait you tossed out there and opted to not bite.

Then again, my less lethal option (9x19) 1911 runs. Probably because I dont clean it.

I knew you choose not to bite. I shot with a guy who kept talking about how great his $700 1911 was. At least it ran. Lizard also enjoys the game.

Pretty obvious, but at this point, I can't stop or he'll think he won.

But 1911 guys take it into a near religious place more often then not. Listening to how they do it is entertaining.
But they are the only ones you could possibly brag about!

This is all in less than 5 packages of primers (100 each).
See its your fault bad reloads, I know this is true because I read it here in a thread about aftermarket barrels. Something about lost dog or some such thing...

Yeah really I just felt like poking Steve a little bit, i was board too. Like what you like, do what you do and live and let live. I like my M&P more then my G19. I like my 1911's even more. Doesn't mean a thing in the end. At least we laugh and have some fun!

I do really wish i knew it was worth the investment to start casting though. Stupid banned wheel weights, NYS....

But .45s are just better......

I have 5 diff 1911s, 3 diff manuf, all stock but for maybe a sight change & trigger job. So I have never tweeked a 1911 yet to get it to run. I would wager 95% of 1911 problems are caused by "tweeking" them. Wager again, same for Glock or other plastic wonder guns. The only thing a Glock has over a properly setup 1911 (meaning don't F with it), is it breaks down for easier cleaning.

The truth is if JMB was alive today he would have created the Glock style/type pistol. He was very good!

The 1911s are more reliable with SPP .45acp.

Mine came out of the box and wouldn't chamber some factory ammo. Some it would, some it wouldn't. More importantly, it wouldn't chamber my reloads, so I had a guy with a waiting list to build Bullseye guns for guys who compete and win at Camp Perry etc. tweek it for me. Now it works, if you don't count the three misfeeds in less than 500 rounds since the chamber issue ws fixed.

I'm not talking about you here, because I know you shoot straight about such things, but I have seen 1911's malfunction with my own two eyes and then listened to the owner tell somebody his gun never missed a beat. I saw it with a new Kimber once. It kept locking the slide back with rounds in the mag. The guy deliberately kept his thumbs down and it still did it. I only shoot guns with my thumbs down and it did it for me too. He put a slide stop in from one of his other 1911's and it stopped malfunctioning. A friend of this guy came in later and this dude starts bragging on how his new Kimber never missed a beat.

1) Bill Jordan shot .357 mag... which is ok.

2) People talk about tinkering with 1911's, but every day I see threads on this site where people are taking a candle or hair dryer or dremel or soldering iron to their glocks to correct pignose, stipple, grip, or adding a NY trigger / transfer bar / maritime spring cups, aftermarket barrels... presumably to make their perfection, uhhhh perfection.

3)You gotta give some of us old caliber tards a break... back when we learned how to shoot, there was no +P or fancy holler points to make 9mm worth a darn. It just wasn't a realistic option. Old habits and all that.

4) dkf... you are also a filthy heathen.

1) I'm having second thoughts about Jordan.

2) All of which is true, but not due to any shortcoming of the gun, it's due to the severe wierdness of people who think that melting or soldering their gun somehow makes it better. Just because some low rider puts a whale tail spoiler on a Civic doesn't mean the Civic is no good.

3) You aint that old. I have Shooter's Bibles older than you and they have holler pernts in them.

4) dfk is a filthy heathen.

Let's argue about dfk being a heathen instead. I'll start. He IS a heathen, a filthy one at that.
