I was a teenager in the 50's and "B" movies were all the rage it seemed and one that really stood out was "Mars needs Women".I think Zsa Zsa Gabor was in it as the Queen of Mars, terrible movie but great camp.
Also 3D movies came out in the 50's but you could see one for less than a dollar, and some weren't too bad.

Yes they were that bad. They re-ran them on TV back in the early 80's. They were terrible. How anyone was "scared" of the Monster From The Black Lagoon or any of those other titles is beyond me.

We thought it was cool to go to the supermarket or drug store and get a set of cardboard glasses. Oooooh. After 5 min of the crappy movie. . . HUH!?

It might not be the absolute worst I've ever seen, but when I think of bad movies, the first thing that comes to mind is "Dazed and Confused."

Anything with Jim Carrey. I absolutely cannot stand that idiot.

With the exception of Collateral, Tom Cruise is terrible.

Reminds me of the old joke about Sean Connery: "Mr. Connery, your new movie will be set entirely in Scotland" "Aye" "Everyone in it will be Scottish" "Aye" "Except for you - you'll be playing a 17th century Spanish Conquistador"...

(or a Russian Submarine Commander, etc...)

Actually, Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Rameriz was Egyptian (born Tak-Ne, about 900BC)

Lies and Illusions

Worst Christian Slater movie by far, and the worst movie I have ever seen. No acting at all.

Now let's not be too quick to disparage, because Scottish origin myths say (I kid you not) that the Gaelic people are the descendants of an Egyptian princess (named Scota) who traveled to Ireland (via a stop in Spain) after being exiled from Egypt, and then her descendants ultimately settled in Scotland. There are even claims made that she brought the Stone of Scone with her from Egypt, and that it is the stone mentioned in Genesis that Jacob used as a pillow when he dreamed of God. So good ole Sir Connery may have just been playing one of his own distant ancestors...

Really? I mean, it wasn't flawless, by any stretch, but I thought it was a good, somewhat fresh take on vampire stories. And far, FAR superior to most recent so-called vampire movies we've gotten lately (you know the ones I'm talking about.....)

I love movies. To me, what makes a movie horrible, is having expectations that are not met. The worst are the ones that are blockbusters and everyone is raving about it and then you see it and it just sucks.

Three off the top of my head are Mission Impossible, Star Wars Episode I and Avatar. These were all blockbusters that for me just didn't work at all.

.........."Xanadu" was absolutely, suckily, horribly, completely, reprehensibly BAD!!
One would think that a movie with the hot Olivia Newton-John would be watchable at least, but to suppose that would be wrong-O!!

That reminded me of a big budget, highly publicized movie that was so horrible I had mentally blocked it out. The most unbelievable BAD movie I have ever seen released to actual movie theater circulation was Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.

And no, I'm not one of the people who thinks vampires or the Abe Lincoln vampire mix are just silly. I love vampire movies and I thought the book was OK.

I don't know if I'd rate the movie in the category of "worst", but it absolutely was a disappointment. The book was, in my opinion, genius. Written as if it were an actual biography, it was incredibly well done. The movie took that and turned it into a caricature of the book.

Much in the same way I'm expecting the new World War Z movie to make a mockery of the book.
