Who here plays Ultimate Frisbee?

Any of you guys play Ultimate Frisbee? We've been playing a lot lately and I gotta say, it's a blast. The workout is similar to a nonstop game of full-court basketball.

Wow, tough room.
The games been around a while but recently has become a big hit with leagues. It's actually gaining a lot of traction with leagues in hundreds of cities. Similar to softball, around here there are a lot of corporate leagues. It's a very fast-paced physical game. If you've never tried it you should check it out.

Frisbee golf was fun as years ago. Just starting to make a comeback.

Yeah, a lot of the courses are free and located in local parks. That's easy to play whole lot cheaper than real golf.

Ultimate frisbee, is a kind of a cross between basketball and football. You work your way down the field, continue to pass the frisbee, until you reach the end zone. If you have the frisbee, you can take no more than two steps. If you drop it, missed the pass, throw it out of bounds, you get instant change of possession and it goes back down the other side. Very fast paced.

Sounds like something my kids and crew would like. Have the city park next door. Thanks for the idea!

Ultimate frisbee is a blast to play, I enjoyed it when I was younger. Haven't played in years because I've gotten out of shape, forgotten how to properly throw a frisbee accurately, and I don't have anybody to play with. But I'd pick it up again if I had people to play with and it wasn't 110+ in the summer.

Is that why you aren't at your post?

Weather is good for now, but in the dead of summer, forget it.

Ultimate Frisbee almost cost me my entire freshman year of college in '78. Well, that and beer. HH

We used to play Ultimate Frisbee quite a bit, in the Army. I knocked 3 teeth out of a guy once, during a game. I threw the Frisbee hard as hell and he jumped right in front of it, maybe six feet away. It looked like it hurt. Eric

I'm not at my post because I have to go save the princess!

Weather sucks. I much prefer weather that is 60-70 all year 'round. I don't want to go outside and be instantly drenched in sweat, get into my car which is even hotter, and then burn myself on my seat belt.

And on the flip side of that, having it be so cold that not only do I have to scrape off the outside of my windshield, but also the inside, also sucks.

I want comfortable shorts and t-shirt weather for the whole year. Unfortunately, I don't know that I can find that here in the states.

I've been getting some coworkers pumped up about playing during lunch. It's a good workout.
