I was on a road trip and convinced my wife to make a 45min detour (I promised her new boots) so I could go to Freedom Munitions storefront location north of Houston. While their website is typically 100% sold out the store itself has a separate inventory. Bought 500 round case of 9mm for $144. They had dozens of cases left. The local stores here in the DFW area though are still seem to be selling out before noon though.

A worthwhile detour, for sure.

We are like crack addicts wandering the streets looking for a 9mm fix. The rush of finding a single box of ammo. Sad.

It is a bit sad. this morning at WM, I picked up 2 boxes (100 round count each) of 9mm WWB , left about 6 on the shelf. they had one valu-pak of .40 and a UMC mega pak of .45. guy came in behind me and picked up 2 boxes of 9mm.
the lady said there is a guy there at 7:00 to pick up his 3 box limit every day.

The ammo is going fast. All thanks to the Kenyan POTUS.

I never find ammo at the store, or they have it with limits. Ive been buying from a local guy. I pay more than I want to, but at least he is always in stock.
Next time I will not be caught with my pants down. Lesson learned. :(

A lot of people thought to stock up before the 2008 election. And with Hillary up next the ammo surge will continue.

Scored 1,000 rounds of 9mm online today for only 28 cents a round. Guess I am good to go for a couple of weeks now

My guess is that WWII was the longest ammo drought in the USA.

Where?
I run ammoseek's search every day. I regularly check 20 or so sites. Ammoman, sgammo, bulkammo, luckygunner (although these folks have gone beyond insanity levels on pricing), palmetto, etc - can never find anything which is ridiculous. I think LG had Magtech 115gr for $600/1,000 rounds.

Just found a local shop had restocked quite a bit of 9mm... $90 for the Remington UMC bulk pack, $25 for just about every other brand's box of 50. Couldn't bring myself to pay those prices but with matches happening every month I may have to (I'm not really comfortable with trying to reload, I like my fingers too much.)

Academy in Houston had lots of WWB and Monarch .45 ACP; TMJ and JHP .40; Monarch x39 and WWB x54R! No 9mm or 22LR. They had plenty with a 1 box limit. seems to be getting a bit better, still hit-or-miss overall.

One box limit on WWB? What a scam. I'd make it two boxes.
