as of a week ago, the only rounds to be had for under 25/rd were 12 gauge shells (7 shot lead-not ideal by any means for SD, but WILL do the trick.) And fun shoot pumpkins with. It's good to hear some pistol rounds are trickling in. I will jump on the first bulk buy I see. I'm done buying ammo buy the box. This reminds me of that Chris Rock bit where he was saying 'forget gun control...we should have bullet control" Talkin about puttin bullets on layaway. "I'd shoot your *****...if I could afford it. Just wait til i save up and buy a bullet". That one got me gigglin'.

Gander Mt had 250 round UMC boxes for $79.99.

$ 0.32 per round.

That's steep, I bought what I needed, but another guy walked out with 6 boxes of shells.

I missed by a day, a much better buy on Blazer!

Thankfully I was not in need of any ammunition,the only rounds I purchase any more is 22 rim fire.
I do purchase SD ammunition but have enough for a while,everything else I reload.
I was just taking a peek to see what the state of supply was and it's not healthy. SJ 40

Checked my local WalMarche' at 0700 yesterday. Nothing on the shelves but ran into another customer who said they had 9mm and 40mm in back and not to let them say no. Don't need the 40 but sure could use some 9. Went wandering around the store to find a clerk and found the Store Manager. She said they didn't have any. Told her about the guy that said they did...she basically blew that off but did radio staff who came walking up with a CASE of 9mm. They sold me 3 boxes of 50. Came back this morning to see if any survived. None. All gone. Other thing at WalMarche' is you have to be persistant. Most of the staff doesn't have a clue.

I was on a road trip and convinced my wife to make a 45min detour (I promised her new boots) so I could go to Freedom Munitions storefront location north of Houston. While their website is typically 100% sold out the store itself has a separate inventory. Bought 500 round case of 9mm for $144. They had dozens of cases left. The local stores here in the DFW area though are still seem to be selling out before noon though.

A worthwhile detour, for sure.

We are like crack addicts wandering the streets looking for a 9mm fix. The rush of finding a single box of ammo. Sad.

It is a bit sad. this morning at WM, I picked up 2 boxes (100 round count each) of 9mm WWB , left about 6 on the shelf. they had one valu-pak of .40 and a UMC mega pak of .45. guy came in behind me and picked up 2 boxes of 9mm.

the lady said there is a guy there at 7:00 to pick up his 3 box limit every day.

I never find ammo at the store, or they have it with limits. Ive been buying from a local guy. I pay more than I want to, but at least he is always in stock.

Next time I will not be caught with my pants down. Lesson learned. :(

A lot of people thought to stock up before the 2008 election. And with Hillary up next the ammo surge will continue.

Scored 1,000 rounds of 9mm online today for only 28 cents a round. Guess I am good to go for a couple of weeks now
