With this kind of tech, do they really think regulation, bans or new laws will ever be able to do away with firearms?

As with drugs, making them illegal or harder to obtain just opens a market for illegal, completely unregulated weapons that cannot be traced.

If one is able to think clearly, one would come to the conclusion that something cannot be "un" invented. And given enough incentive, anything can be manufactured.

FAA and TSA said I can no longer take a knife with me as carry on but my seven inch flat head screwdriver is no problem.

Seems screwdrivers are unregulated to date.
