Hey Warren Buffet - the Pot called - YER BLACK!

http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daily...37847.html?l=1

OK, that was funny.

Apple Computer - 40B in cash (10% of market cap)

Berkshire Hathaway (40% smaller company) $47B in cash. (20% of market cap)

(That will be worse when AAPL price goes back up. Cash as a percent of the Market Cap will drop precipitously at Apple. And Warren will still have billions in cash.)

I remember when Warren was just a cool investor. Now he just wants to get his name in the papers. :( He's showing how much of an ego-maniac he really is.

Is that how much Apple has just in the US? Cause they have way more cash than that. Around $150 billion I think.

That's what I thought, but I get the online comparison and it's only $40B.

Even still, Buffett has a TON of cash and complaining others aren't spending it. LOL

Ummm.....I can't open the link. Apple has $140 billion in cash worldwide and a current market cap of $424.36 billion.

I actually know one billionaire real well. The only thing he cares about in life, bar nothing, is making money. Way past the point where he could spend even a small amount of it.

It's like he thinks they are going to wire it ahead for him when he dies.

I would tend to think that somone with his extended track record of huge successes would have a little arrogance to them, doesn't seem that possible to achieve to that level otherwise.

My point is, he goes LOOKING for controversy.

"Billionaires need to pay taxes!"

"And Obamacare sucks!"

"And I hate cheese!"

"Corporations that hoard cash are evil!"

Dang. Seems you'd hear from him about 3x/yr in the 90's. Today, nobody farts without getting an opinion (and a 50/50 that it's meaningful) from Warren.

Yeah, from what I have seen, you have to think you can control everything and everybody, and spend your life trying.

Except, for him being rich, it's kind of sad.

Ya know, when he dies he will occupy no more real estate than the poorest dead vagrant. Or the most evil murderer.

I still say if Buffoon wants "rich" people to pay more taxes he should pony up and donate at least half of his wealth to the US Government.

Berkshire Hathaway long term debt $57 billion

Apple long term debt $0

Buffet knows things can turn to crap - he wants to have his cake and eat it too.

Borrow cheap money long term while you can - but keep your cash as a cushion in case things turn to crap - or if you see an opportunity you want to move fast on.

IMHO in 2015 Berkshire locked in now interest rate on its long term debt will be lower than the rate they will be earning on its excess cash.

Sweet deal -
