The author acknowledges that Freud did indeed say what I have attributed to him, but is merely trying (unsuccessfully) to argue that it doesn't apply to the gun control debate because Freud used the more general term "weapons".
Note to the author...guns ARE weapons.

Really nothing new in all of that.
The left thinks that anyone that disagrees with them - regardless of topic, is a ticking time bomb and not to be trusted.
If you disagree with same sex marriage, you're a homophobe and most probably a closet homosexual.
If you disagree with the president, you're a racist.
If disagree with gun control, you're a ticking time bomb just looking for a place to go nuts.
The reasoning in this piece suggests that people kill only because weapons are available. I wonder what the net change in the murder rate was pre-Brady VS post. The idea that a person can support the second amendment and own a firearm or a few and be reasonable and sane is just something that they can't wrap their heads around.

You might be confusing who said what in that citation. Freud did not say "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity."

The guy should have stuck to drawing pretty pictures of dinosaurs instead of spewing out his philosophy of religion and guns. Just proves any sort of moronic drivel can get published if it fits the progressive agenda.
