I don't understand why, but to me at least, the special kind of stupid is always more entertaining than the regular stupid. More disturbing too, of course, but still more entertaining. It matters little whether it is plates and duct tape, the elderly woman neighbor, a dozen OD Glocks, chemtrails, or a radical liberal Christian (which seems like a contradiction of course.) Now that Sam Kinison and John Belushi are dead, this special kind of stupid may be the best entertainment regardless of the price.

That's awesome! Some people just don't get it. Those are the ones you have to worry about.

This is a saying I came up with after many nights dealing with it on patrol.

If that was my house I would have a flag pole up the next day with a 3x5 NRA flag with a Gadsden flying below it. And a few extra stickers on my car

And take off the sticker. The emotional trauma it causes those poor chillens is quite severe!

Under the NRA sticker they should put a "it's for the children" sticker.

I absolutely agree that you should get rid of that sticker...and replace it with a much bigger sticker. Perhaps a few silhouettes of semi-auto rifles for good measure.

Yes, buy MORE stickers for the car and maybe a nice sized yard sign.

A detail, but an important one: that letter was ANONYMOUS! This puts it closer to intimidation than advocacy. This distinction can have repercussions against the original author of the letter, if anything ever gets "serious".

Dear Idiot Neighbor:

Your disdain for the Second Amendment gives me disdain for the First, though I'll protect both of them even though it allows your putrid libel to spew forth.

The only danger in this neighborhood is your vacuum of self defense for failure to own guns, which will only attract criminals. I'm sure you'll confirm this by proudly putting a No Guns Here! sign on your lawn since you so naiively think that will work.

The best thing that could happen would be for you to just leave and stop endangering us all.

Oh and go F#$% yourself.

That's more than stupid, it's disturbing.

Do you know (or suspect) which neighbor left it? It would be nice to leave them a little letter in return; something like:

"Dear Neighbor,

I realize that you don't care enough about the safety of yourself or your children to take active steps to protect them, but fear not because you are neighbors with someone who DOES care, and is who willing to help out when needed. I am armed, I am vigilant, and I am watching you...always."

All of the above! And a bumpersticker saying....oh hell, I can't think of anything appropriate for this forum. You get the point, I'm sure.

I take issue with the "christian" neighborhood portion as well. If I lived in this person's neighborhood I would have an NRA sticker and a Darwin fish sticker on my car the next day.

That settles it: I'm putting my NRA stickers on my car as soon as I get home.

If the recipient lives where there is a local newspaper send a letter to the Editor in starting with

"To the woman in my neighborhood who...."

Then do not exactly quote the letter.

Either way, if it was written by a man or a woman, I will bet that the author of the note will be the first person to ask,

"How do you know it was written by a woman?"

I believe that my hope for salvation from eternal damnation rests in the atoning death of Jesus on the cross in my place. In other words, I'm a Christian.

I reject the writers claim of Christianity. They are the ones who need to turn to the Almighty for some guidance.

And just so's you know, when Jesus was questioned about 9mm vs. .45, He, in His infinite wisdom replied: "Verily, verily I say unto thee, shot placement reigneth supreme."

Yes, that was meant as humor.

You overlooked the followup commentary: Verily shalt thou knowest that in the world to come, the 10mm will simplify the issue.

Dear Neighbor,

I understand your concerns. As a token of good will I have fashioned a large sign for your front yard that declares to one and all that you are oposed to firearm onwership and that you do not have any firearms in your home. Please feel free to display it with pride so that all that pass through our neighborhood can be respectful of your position.

Have a "peaceful" day.

Regards,

Your Neighbor.
