I only have one Glock - a G17 that is my EDC. But I have handguns in four other calibers.

Multiple pistols in multiple calibers. Here in Michigan, I carry depending on what the dress is for the season and I have many carry options.

I have multiple. I can see the advantage of having just one, but it doesn't work for me.

I am issued a P226 in .40 for work, I am personally not a huge fan of the .40, but have no choice in the matter.

Off duty I carry a P239. In that size gun I prefer the 9mm for the reduced recoil and extra capacity.

I prefer revolvers for pocket carry so .38spl is the most obvious choice. I have a 442 Smith and Wesson that I carry as a BUG and pocket carry when wearing dress clothes.

For HD I wanted a full size gun with a light rail. I chose a P220 in .45acp that. I prefer the .45 to the .40 even with the reduced capacity. In a larger gun like the P220 recoil is not much of an issue.

I just can't have the weight of my snub nose in my pocket. What holster are you using? I am always looking for options.

I'm about 90% 9mm at this point, it's for my G19 and G26, These are the ones i mainly practice with and are the ones i would go to in a bad situation. I also have a 1911 GI that is just fun to shoot so i also use some 45ACP.

I think it's better to pick a caliber/weapon and practice as much as possible with it.

As others have said, I prefer several calibers just in case ammo gets more difficult to acquire.

For example, Cabelas was sold out of just about everything. But I was able to find some 180 grain Hornady XTP in 10mm.

It's nice to have a few.

As far as the "beware the man with one gun, because he knows how to use it" philosophy goes....I do agree with it, but I think it applies more to rifles rather than handguns. That's just my opinion, of course.

With that said I like different calibers
+1 One caliber is like having one tool in the toolbox. If all your guns are the same caliber, it's like having all different screwdrivers in the toolbox, but still one tool.

Multiple calibers, multiple choices. Don't want a single point of failure.

Heck, I got 9, .40, .45, .38, .22, and .380. I like all of them. I don't see why I should stick to one caliber. I mostly shoot 9 and .45. I relaod .45 and 9 is cheap.

I reload also. Bullets are hard to find these days.

Yes they are!! I scored 1000 .45 bullets from tj conevera recently. Id like to get some more, along with some primers and powder. It probably won't happen any time soon.

Well, lucky for my cartridge supply the range is still covered with snow. I have a mere hundred 9mms to reload.

I've got 11 pistol calibers, 7 rifle calibers, and 2 shotgun gauges. I primarily shoot .40 in pistol and 30-30 in rifle (a lever gun is just fun!). I should think about .22 for a while until (hopefully) prices go down.

I really like my two Springfield Armory M1911A1 .45 ACPs, but my favorite gun and cartridge is my Glock Model 17 and its 9x19 cartridge.

If I had only 1 caliber I'd be outta luck, 'cause I just can't find any 9mm. If I see any of my calibers at WalMart,I'll pick up a box or 2.(their limit is 3). Sometimes it's .40, sometimes GAP. Usually, if I want .45, I just stop at my LGS and get supplies to load a couple hundred GAP.

I shoot only 10mm, and buy it from underwood or doubletap online - so my supply was really good, compared to other calibers. I went to walmart the other day, and decided to stop by ammo section for the first time in 2-3 months. Holly f%#@ng jumping meat balls!!! The rack had only .38 special plus some shells. Felt like the country is at war, or something. Human psychology is weird, man!
