Anyone confirm there are 5 Nuclear Carriers in port in Norfolk right now?
I heard that aircraft carriers USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), USS Enterprise (CVN 65), USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) are in port at Naval Station Norfolk, Va. for routine inspections.

I know next to nothing about The US Navy. I find it hard to believe that we'd have five carriers in any one area.

The Enterprise was decomissioned last year. The Navy was considering decomissioning the George Washington since she is close to needing a refueling (a very long process) and I don't know that the George H. W. Bush has been completed yet.
EDIT TO ADD - The Bush was comissioned in 2009 so she is active. The Washington is also still active.

It's in preparation for the next storm that will hit the DC area. How do I know? I tapped G-dub's phone line - he's pissed and is getting the Weather Machine cranked up. Also the reason oil has been going up - he's buying tons of it to fuel the thing.
I couldn't figure out how to fit the sequester in there. Sorry. LOL

Read the comments under those two links are so funny; they are also true by the way.

Bingo. Having spent my life in the area, I can verify that there is usually at least two in port. If they're not sitting at Naval Station Norfolk, there's often one sitting right across the river in Newport News Shipbuilding where my father worked for 20+ years. Three weeks ago I was headed across the Monitor-Merrimac tunnel on 664 and I could make out 4 island houses from the angle I was at but couldn't get a great look before my view was gone.

They are resupplying, in preparation of the gun grab.
On a serious note though, that dock must be absolutely enormous to be able to hold that many giant ships at once.

The USS George Bush is constipated. The high-tech toilets don't work. They have 40 sailors working continously to unplug them.
Sort of like a cruise ship....

It's Bush's fault.

Per Wikipedia they put filter screens in place to fix that. They blamed "feminine hygene products" being flushed down them.
How would you like a ship bearing your name to be known for problems with the crapper though?

Hmm... Well, just bring in the USS Barack Obama. It will be able to get things to go down the toilet like you've never seen.

If they ever comission a USS Obama then everything that goes wrong on it will be blamed on the USS Bush.

I think the Eisenhower left port. It was parked downwind of the Bush.
Let me check with the military attache at the Russian Embassy. They know where all our ships are. Heck, they know what is being served in the mess each day.

Then perhaps they can shed some light on the toilet problem.

Target rich environment...
Container port inland from that Navy dock, so here comes a container ship with a "Thin Man" uranium bomb in a top level container...
