Ruger 10/22 Takedown Dilemma....
Buy the new one with the FACTORY threaded barrel or get the one I already own threaded by a compitent gunsmith?
I am in Broward County, FL if you guys know someone that could thread it locally.
Thanks a bunch!

It can run up around a $100 here. So, if you can sell, buy new and handle the headache paperwork that might be the way to go.

What headache paperwork?????????
He's just getting it threaded.
Up here, that paperwork doesn't start until you buy the suppresor.

In today's market, if you have the option of owning both, do it.

I can certainly afford to get the factory threaded TD with the money I have saved in my "gun fund", but do I really need two of them?

Do you know a good place? I can ship it, that's not a problem, although local would be better.
Thanks,

I've had it for about 8 or 9 months. I bought it before all of this happened
I actually found somebody local that will thread the barrel on the one I have and save the money in my gun fund for a Ruger Mark III 22/45 with factory threaded barrel.

Anybody got a pic of a non threaded takedown with the barrel threaded? I'm looking at mine and wonder what you guys are doing with your front sight. I'm assuming you get rid of it, but maybe I'm wrong.

www.innovativearms.com . Phil owns/runs it. Tell him Sterling sent you.
He's down the road and has threaded everything I own that's not been factory threaded. Prices are reasonable and the work is superb.

Picked up a Davidson's exclusive 10/22 takedown today from a local shop; stainless steel barrel and clear-coat receiver, threaded barrel with factory flash suppressor (SS or plated?), fiber-optic sights (front [red] and rear [green]), and comes with the 25-shot BX-25 magazine.

With all due respect, that's the dumbest question I've ever heard.

Bummer.
Wonder if they'd tell you the closest shops to your home that got them?
