G26 Gen 3 vs Gen 4 magazines?
Is there any difference between a Gen 3 and a Gen 4 G26 magazine?

Gen 4 mags have 2 cutouts for left or right mag release button like Paxmo said. Gen 3 work for left mag release buttons only.

I picked up a Gen 3 G26 (had a test fire date of 1/31/13) this past Friday and it came with Gen 4 mags.

My Gen 3 - 26 has a test fire date of 10/23/12 and it came with Gen 4 mags.. I suppose they decided it was easier to only make one kind of mag. The Gen 4 mags will work in both Gen 3 & Gen 4.

on order
Thank you for the responses. I put my order in, now wait months, for the Gen4 mags.

Gen4 magas come with all models now, only ones in production.
Backward compatable gen 1-4

dont see why u would want a gen 3 g26 since the gen 3&4 both have a proven, reliable recoil spring. with the gen4 u get bigger mag release, more mags, better grip size and texture (subjective but can still customize with backstraps).

I bought a NIB Gen3 26 a little ways back, and I am very pleased with it. I didn't even blink an eye when I saw it in my dealer's display case, what with the panic going on. That being said, if they had had a gen4 also, I *probably* would bought it instead of the Gen3.

Other than a few malfunctions in the beginning, my G26 Gen 3 is fine.
