Yep. That's me - blindly trusting the government.
Hey, clown: I work for the government. I've got real world experience with the government. I trust the .gov to do one thing - be inefficient and irritating. That's actually two things, but you get the point.
So, oh wise one - what airlines are supporting this chemtrail venture, because I see logos on all those planes. Oh wait - those are just false markings, and these are really military planes gussied up to make you believe otherwise. Mulder, is that you?
And, do you even know what chaff is, or why military planes have it?

Far be it from me to toss a little logic into what I am sure is a really nice paranoid fantasy, but how big do you figure those 'chemtrail' tanks are on on those jets? Have you ever seen a crop duster and the size of its chemical tank? That's just to dust a bitty little field. How much freaking chemical would an airliner need to dump that much 'chemical' into the air, hour after hour? Do the math. Eric

I don't "trust" the government. I'm sure that, given the capability, there are plenty of people in the US government who would happily do many of the evil things that conspiracy theorists claim that they do.
But, I don't believe for a second that the government is capable of doing those things. The reasons why depend on the particular conspiracy theory, but they mostly come down to:
1) Science
2) Logistics
3) Incompetence
Chemtrails scientifically make no sense. As Eric points out, they are logistically implausible--the idea that they're hiding billions of gallons of "stuff" at airports and aboard airplanes without anyone noticing is ridiculous.
