These are Montana gold. I understand they use Gold Dots also.

I keep a Sig P220 loaded with185 grain silver tips. They are a bit 'old school' but so am I.

If you gun is all steel I would go with the 230gr HST +p.

If it is lightweight, I would use the regular HST, but you really do not need the +p if a 5" barrel. However, I found the +p's easy to handle in my all steel 1911's.

Other than copper bullets, I found that HST's expand the best.

I have read way too many stories of how certain light-weight bullets get diverted by criminal bones. So in my M1911A1 pistols there are 255gr bullets loaded to 850 FPS. No bone will stop/deflect this bullet very much. Now in my G17 I carry a WW 9mm 115gr JHP +p+ load. I suppose that this bullet is liable to be deflected by bones.

With all of these people carry .45s, how can there be any crime in the USA?

Currently Underwood 230gr +P Gold Dot

I rotate between them and 230gr HST, 230gr Ranger T, 230gr XTP, 230gr Golden Sabre, 200gr +P Speer Gold Dot or 200gr +P XTP. Whew, I think that's it. No, sometimes I carry 185gr +P Golden Sabre too.

I loaded up some Hornady XTP 230gr. bullets with 6.3 gr. of Unique powder. I think that will allow me to defend myself if need be.
