I loaded up some Hornady XTP 230gr. bullets with 6.3 gr. of Unique powder. I think that will allow me to defend myself if need be.

230 grain Remington Golden Saber. It's the most reliably feeding 45 ACP hollow point I've found.

Another +1 for 230gr HST +p
I also like Remington 185gr +p Golden Sabers and Hornady Critical Defense 185gr +p for some applications or if I cant find any HSTs.

I will decide on Thursday night after a range trip. I have Doubletap 230, and am waiting on Buffalo Bore 230. Some of you may already know what it will be. It will be one of the two. i will give my range report.

I got the bug to carry a 1911 again so .45 it is.
My P7 will still get carried though and so will the j-frame.
Regards,
Comrade Happyguy

I thought of this thread topic when I just checked 3 of my loaded .45's and the appropriate spare mags.
2 of them were loaded with 230gr Rem Golden Sabre (non-bonded) and 1 with 230gr Win RA45T.
Guess that's what was handy when I last loaded those .45's and their mags at different times.
The SW1911SC 5" that I pulled for carry today (running over the hill to meet up with a former bureau partner) is one loaded with the Rem GS, which I'm not changing out even though I recently moved a box of RA45T so it's sitting next to a bunch of .45 mags.
If it's one or another of the more modern hollowpoints that will feed in my .45's, I don't get too choosy about it.
