This was taken near I believe Tucumcari, NM. This particular trip was to Holbrook, Arizona. I drove I-40 the whole way. This is still the farthest west I've been.

The Okie Corral

All shot with a Hasselblad, between '66-'71. The second photo of the longshoreman was taken at Chicago's Navy Pier when I was fourteen years old.

I Have No Photography Skillz

However, I love this picture, if just for the humor of it.

Here I am, running Skline Drive (downhill) in my 2012 5.0 Mustang, getting 99.9MPG!!! To truly appreciate the humor, I normally get around 14-15MPG in city driving. This car was never intended to get Prius-like MPGs.

The Okie Corral

I also love this picture. This was taken the same day, parked at one of the scenic over-looks above a valley. What looks like a really blurry, poorly taken picture, is really smoke/haze from forrest fires down in the valley. When I was driving to the park, heading west on I-66, I could smell the smoke miles and miles away. It was such a strong smell, that I initially thought something on my car was buring.

I've been through Holbrook many, many times. I've never heard of anyone going TO Holbrook though. Eric

My avatar.

The Okie Corral

That's 900lbs of whoop-ass named Shear Kahn at the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, FL. I had a 2x teleconvertor on my 70-200 lens, and it was cranked all the way to 200mm. I was standing on a dock over a small pond with my elbows braced against the railing.

Nothing separated me from the kitty except half of a pond. And tigers are aquatic... He has the, "You're lucky it would take me effort to get to you" look on his face.

I've cropped it, blown it up to 24x36, and have it hanging on my wall at home.

I took this photo in Jackson Hole WY, in January 2012. We rented a snowmobile after our flight was cancelled for snow and towed it out to Gros Ventre, this pic was taken about 30 miles into our trip through national land, amazing country out there...

Hot spring on the way into the national park we were snow mobiling in.

the pic of the road reminds me of the road to the hunting cabin in the pa mountains...it takes on a hole another life at night and after a snow fall in the winter..
