I caught my first Walleye last summer. He put up a good fight.
I have been told by several people they are excellent eating. 
I lived in Alaska for 35 years before retiring here so I am greatly biased.
So, despite the fact he came out of Claytor Lake (polluted to high heaven) I cooked it and tried to eat it. 
 Yukk! Maybe it was all in my mind.
Next day I found out I had eaten a citation sized fish. 
From now on they go back in the lake. Give some other fishermen a chance to eat it.
