Actually, that probably was it. I guess the name confused my memory about where the show was based. One of his cars was a Cord 810. It was supposed to be an original, but it was a replica. The Cord 810 may well be the most beautiful car America ever built. It certainly was the best example of art-deco-inspired automotive design.

Jack and Jill. Amanda Peet was the only reason I watched.
Not really obscure, but I liked Hercules the Legendary Journeys.

I just found out Netflix has a bunch of the TV shows I watched when I was a kid, so I'm going all nostalgia and watching them. Thomas the Tank Engine, back when it had Ringo Starr and George Carlin, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Big Bad Beetleborgs, V.R. Troopers, Bobby's World, etc.

Here is a VERY obscure TV trivia factoid: During BJ and the Bear's heyday, a 'BJ and the Bear' lady's shampoo was marketed. I only remember this because my sister was eight or nine and nursing a scalding crush going for BJ. When the shampoo came out, she climbed the walls until my mother bought her some.
When they got home from purchasing the shampoo, my sister ran to the bathroom to shampoo with her loved one's new hair care product. A few minutes later, she came out, went over to our father, shoved her still-dripping head under his nose and asked him how it smelled. He replied that it smelled like puppy farts. She cried broken-heartedly for almost an hour, until our mom was able to calm her down. Now you guys know where I got my sense of humor. Eric

I watched Riptide mostly for the Corvette...
And every time I watched The Drew Carey Show and Mimi showed up, I envisioned the helicopter; the Flying Mimi...

I loved that show. In fact, that was a great night of TV. Thursday night, there was Riptide at seven, Simon & Simon at eight and Magnum PI at nine. The next day, you had the Incredible Hulk at seven, the Dukes of Hazard at eight and Dallas at nine.
I know entirely too much about TV, don't I? Eric

It was a gee-whiz looking car, but it was just a fiberglass shell on a VW Bug floorpan. VW-based kit cars used to be very popular. Some of them were quite distinctive looking, but I shudder to think what would happen to the passengers, in even a moderate crash. There is simply no structural support there. Scary stuff.
I liked the gimmick the two guys in that show had, where they had a standing bet over who had the lowest pulse rate after a fight, or scary situation. Anyway, that old guy always reminded me a bit of John Wayne. Eric

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Gunsmoke.
My Dad used to wake me up to watch it with him. It was the only thing we really did together.
