Hello from Europe!

Hi everyone,

I am a long term Glock owner from Europe.

I am an officer in the Army Reserve of my country and since we are not allowed to keep our Army-issued G17:s (the standard sidearm of our Army) at home, we have to file for a private civilian license for a pistol to keep one at home and practise regularly. Civilian ownership of pistols for other reasons is strictly limited for most people.

This has been getting more and more difficult over the years, but since I did it already in 1994, I'm home safe.

My piece is a Gen 1 G17L (the original long-slide) which I have been happy with even though it is a bit different than the standard G17 sidearm.

Other than that, I am a hunter and own several rifles and shotguns and I also have experience with most kinds of light arms from the service.

What country are you in?

Also, I have heard it rumored that Glock made a few 17L models in the Gen 1 "pebble" grip, but I have never seen one. Post a photo, please.

Thanks!

I hope you don't find me ridiculous or lacking in respect, but I'll refrain from disclosing my exact whereabouts in Europe for now, since gun ownership is a sensitive issue over here.

Regarding pictures, I'll see what I can do. I'm not sure if "pebble" structure of the grip is what I have, but the grips are slightly grainy on the sidearm.

Weclome, if you want to know anything about the US just ask.
I'm in the state of Arizona, we have the most liberal gun laws in the US and I take advantage of it.
My G17 is gen 3.

@Tiro Fijo: here's a pic of my 17L's grip.

Is this what you mean by "pebble" grip?
