I just bought my first Glock in over 6 years! :)

The last time I bought a Glock was my G19 on January 1st, 2007, so its been a while. I can't remember the last time I started a thread in General Glocking, but its been many, many years. I figure now is the time to get the Glocks (and other polymer pistols) that I want, before something goes down in Washington. That includes a couple full size Glocks.

The G20 is one I've wanted for a while. I had a G29 about 10 years ago that I sold, back when I used to sell guns. I will state that while I like Glocks, I'm just not a huge polymer pistol fan in general. I'm also not a huge fan of the 10mm, though I fully realize its awesome capabilities and versatility.

I give Glock tons of kudos for sticking with the 10mm all these years and basically saving it from fading away. Yes, 10mm 1911s in all price ranges are getting very popular. Colt reintroduced the Delta and there was even a company trying to redo the Bren Ten. However, I don't believe any of this would have happened if Glock did not stand by the caliber with the G20 for the last 20+ years. This is coming from a huge 1911 guy who will give credit where credit is due. Glock almost single handedly kept the cartridge afloat during its darkest days.

After all these years, this is the first full size Glock I've ever owned, believe it or not. I do plan on getting a couple more...

This is just a standard gen 3 G20 with a test fire date of 11/26/12.

Please enjoy the pics and share your thoughts.

Thanks!

Here is my very modest Glock collection, with my new G20 sitting with my G33 and G19.

Here is my small 10mm family, with my new G20 with my Bren Ten and S&W 1006.

I'm seriously considering making the Glock 20 my next purchase and having an armorer or someone lop off the bottom of the magwell so it will accept G29 mags so I have the barrel and slide of a 20 but the compactness of the 29 frame.

I assume its an original?

That sounds like a decent deal, not knowing the exact condition. Originals are harder and harder to find, so prices will continue to go up.

It looks similiar to this... comes with original box and 2 mags... and the wear is in the front of the slide by the muzzle looks like little scratches...

IMO G20 is the best platform for shooting full house 10mm regularly. Love my 20SF, congrats Bac.

As big of a gun nut that I am, I've never shot a 10mm in any pistol platform before. Is it safe to assume that it fires like a .40sw but on steroids?

Congratulations, the G20 is an excellent choice of Glock to break a 6-year dry spell. Shooting 10mm Auto is exhilarating and the most fun one can have with a Glock without a compensator.

Gaston sends his regards and respectfully asks please don't wait another six years for your next Glock purchase.

Enjoy!

Congrats, bac!

I spoke w/Kevin at KKM today, and he told me that they'll have some stuff ready in about four to five weeks, just in case you're interested in an aftermarket barrel for your G20. I use a stock-length KKM in my G20SF, and it's been really great all around. No feed problems, accuracy is there, and most importantly, the brass doesn't get quite so deformed, making it easier to resize when I load it again.

Enjoy your new 10mm! It looks good along with the other 10mm shooters you've got!

I was in a LGS last week that had 3 Gen 3 models in stock, appeared they have had them a while....mighty tempting and they had bulk ammo in stock too...

My use would be geared more towards a hunting piece, aftermarket barrel, etc.

That is ironic. I haven't bought a Glock since ~2003 and just bought a G20.
