Picked up a Mosin M44...going to give it a new stock!!!
I know there are purists out there that will call this sacrilegious, but I am going to take this rifle I just bought tonight.
Mosin Nagant M44 (non-matching numbers beater gun)
And put it in this stock
Just waiting to get my hands on the stock in a few days hopefully.
I am not a purist lol.
Oh yeah and I am going to try out the Timney trigger upgrade too.
Just wondering what scope mount you guys would recommend? Brass stacker???

Lol...being that there are millions of Mosins, I dont think there will be a shortage of purist style Mosins to go around. I own 3 other Mosins and they are all in "pure" form up at my fathers house in the next state over from me.
Its funny, I am not a fan of tacticool bubba'd shotguns. I run a plane Jane Mossberg 500 with wood furniture and nothing else. But I have no problem bubbafying a Mosin

if you want to try a more traditional mount, they are highly recommended on Surplusrifleforum

Interesting. That setup kinda looks like a PU if I squint my eyes. I'll put that on the possible list.

I'm j/k with you
I have five total; three 91/30s, an M38 and an M44. Mine are all stock and shall remain that way.
That's just how I am
Enjoy your "new" Mosin!

Thanks. This is the only Mosin I own that is not a matching numbers rifle. So it will be the guinea pig.

I also agree that the stock you picked is ugly, but hey man do what feels right to you. Post pics when it's done

I watch your YouTube channel all the time its good...
I say brass stacker....I would like a honest review of it as I am planing on getting the same stock and cutting down a 91/30.
Maybe a long eye relieve 1-4 scope. Buris bass model?

Before you start dropping money, how does it shoot?

I have no idea how it shoots. I just bought it a few hours ago. One of the things I want to test is a comparison of a stock Mosin vs a Mosin in the Archangel stock. The AA stock has steel pillar beds and a better cheek weld so I expect good things if my beater gun isnt too beat up before I got to it.
