I haven't had the opportunity to hold one of the SF models yet. I would like to, but I don't see how 2mm in the grip really makes a difference.

On the subject of G36 issues, what are the problems they are encountering? I have had a couple of stovepipes, but that was always a result of limpwristing on my part.

Have to disagree there. The slim and lighter slide of the 36 balance the gun much better to me with the 30 frame. The lighter slide has a quicker cycle time and functions better with low power reloads for target/competition shooting. Many GSSF'ers have been shooting a 30 frame with 36 slide for years. As for carry, losing weight from the gun while maintaining a 10 rd 45 mag is a good thing too.

Why did you choose the G36? A guy was selling that needed the money more than the gun, so got it for a good price with no papers.

What were the contributing factors? See above, it was a Glock

How do you carry it? Thunderwear. Also is the nightstand pistol for my wife when I'm out of town.

Any other information you want to post about the G36, let's lay it out here. I've never had a problem with it.

Sorry but until I hear this from a reputable source, it's internet BS.

Size and firepower is why I choose the 36. As far as discontinuing the G36.......I doubt that. Why would they make such a decision and let all the sales of a slim design pistol go towards Springfield's xds?

The G36 was my first Glock back in 2002.
It has performed 100% with any and all ammo.

I chose the G36 mostly because I have unusually small hands.
It works so well for me that I purchased a 2nd G36 to ensure that I'll always have at least one.

If I come across a good deal in a private sale I'll buy a third G36 also.

Factory mags shouldn't ever be an issue, but make sure you get some Wolff heavier springs for the mags you decide to alter with the +1 mag extension.

The extension will slightly weaken the upward pressure of the factory spring on the rounds in the mag and cause failures.

With the heavier springs, the mag is returned to factory reliability and might even possibly add to the life of the spring.

I bought mine from a friend a month or so ago. Price is the main reason I bought it , but I am also sort of collecting Glocks . I have been carrying it ever since I got it . Just ordered a 3rd magazine from Midway. I have a crossbreed IWB type holster that I use when going to town and a Fobus paddle for around home.

I have a 30 but the 36 does fit my hand better . I still like my 30 but I go fewer places now That I no longer work , so I gave up the extra rounds and just carry another mag. The comfort of the 36 is hard to beat .

Thanks for the heads up.

The 36 is a fine pistol. It holds only one less round than a compact 1911, is nice and thin making IWB comfortable, and has Glock reliability.

I have a rather rare Glock 36 - video documented to be certified to the 80 yard gong! It won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Of course, you realize this isn't me shooting in the video. It is the great Hickok45 and I am just the guy who loaned the pistol to him.
