What??????? After the thread in "General" I thought you would have gone for 1911 based one.
Seriously, my second 10mm is aG-20 Sf and I like it a lot, but one of the RIAs is on the horizon methinks.

FWIW I would LOVE a 1911-pattern 10mm that could handle any ammo I threw at it. From what I've read the Kimber comes closest... but i have yet to take that plunge.
My stepdad has a range/carry Kimber CDP II he and I are rather fond of, though, so maybe that will change before long. I still have my sights on an S&W 1006 and a Desert Eagle at some point too ;-)

I had decided to buy yet another .41 mag for the first of the year, but then RIA announced their 10mm so I held off. The price is too good considering I really want it as a "trail gun".

I need to check that one out too ... can't have them all unless I get them one by one :-)

The Talon sandpaper grips would be an ideal addition.

Awesome bac! Congratulations. It looks a lot like mine, except shinier and newer!
Admirable little family you have there. Now for the baby Glock 10mm...

I really don't think that needed to be said! Although true, it still wasn't needed, but since you did!
Congrats bac! Hope you wear it out.

EEEW but aren't we the "purist"? 10mm not good enough, ehh? I suppose a .38 super wouldn't pass muster either?

The 38 Super is cool because it was actually the only cartridge ever designed specifically for the 1911. I just got in the habit of buying only 45ACP models for whatever reason.

Nice amigo !
Congrats Bac !
But this has got to be next for ya...! It is for me (i hope) !
Colt's new Close Quarter Battle Pistol 45acp (CQBP).
Elite ops divisions within the Marine corp still use the 1911, in fact they never stoped using it, (within these special ops div)
Syay safe pard.

The new RIA has a ramped barrel with really good support, so it should be able to take a stout load as far as that goes. Also, the word around is that RIA is switching to forged frames. That would have to help with the 10mm capabilities.
I am planning one, thats for sure.

I wouldn't bet on that.
...seriously, I'll probably get another full size Glock or two later this year.
