Speer Gold Dot 40 S&W SHORT BARREL
Anyone have any opinions with a G27? Is it better to lean towards a 155 grain bullet with the short barrel?

I used to put 155 Gold Dots in my 27 when I had it. Then I switched to 180 grain HSTs. I got rid of the 27 and now I have an HK P2000sk and an M&P40c. I put 180 grain HSTs in both.

180s are pretty mild in 27s. I carry HSTs and Gold Dots in my 27.

And to actually answer about 40 180 grain SB Gold Dots I have never tried them but they sound like a good dependable load. I use the 45 230 grain Gold Dot SBs in two of my guns..

For what it's worth, I have put two boxes of the 180 through my Gen 4 27 with no problems.

I have shot several makes of ammo in my G27, without a single issue, but my carry ammo is Gold Dot 180 grain. I have shot many boxes of the Gold Dot and trust it 100%. Need to replace a couple of boxes I shot in Dec, but have not seen any in stores lately. :-(

I haven't found a load my G27 won't eat reliably and throw accurately. My carry round in the G27 is a Ranger SXT 180gr. I've had GDHP in 155, 165, and 180gr's, in the past, as carry rounds.

I can shoot at my work site and there is a Sports Authority down the street from me. So I always run over there to get ammo. I have put countless rounds of the 180 white box through both my Glocks. No problems yet...

I carry 180 GDHP in my 22 and Short Barrel 135 +p GDHP in my 38. I just picked up a 27, trying to decide if the Short Barrel is really needed for the 27. Any advice?
