Got Optics and Went Shooting
S&W M&P 150R.
RM01: Trijicon RMR Sight
Knock off Troy AK flip up sights.
I haven't shot an M16/AR15 platform since the Army so I was kinda having flashbacks with the recoil, smoke and smell. BTW, if anyone's interested, yes AR rifles shooting surplus ammo smell different.
ANYWAY. Got the red dot at about 1.5" low at 25 yards. That's close enough to a 50 yard zero for me. Inside the house, hold it about 2" high. If something needs shot outside that's human sized, it'll be +/- about 2" high to about 3" low from the muzzle to 300 yards or so.
Pulled off the red dot and tried the iron sights. Bloody things I had to go full deflection to the right and it was STILL shooting about 2" left at 25 yards. That's unsat. They're going back and I'm going to spend the money on those and get the right ones. OY!
Fun day.
Had a .22LR pump with me. Girl with me said, "It didn't go off" and handed it back to me. I about died laughing. Seems she'd shot a lot of shotgun and a bit of deer rifle calibers but never shot a .22LR before (I'm still chuckling, I'll get dirty looks tomorrow if I mumble "It didn't go off" during a meeting at some point)

LOL, so she shot the .22, but since the recoil wasn't that of a shotgun, she thought it didn't fire.
Classic.
Oh, and pics or you're lyin'. :O

Touche.
I have a Winchester like that; I learned on it over 20 years ago. A fine piece of weapon history!

I'm slowly rebuilding my grandfather's gun rack. That .22, a Browning A5 (preferably a sweet 16 but if not, eh) in 16 Gauge and a Remington 7400 in .308 WIN.
When I was a kid, I walked into town, about 2 miles, picking up bottles to turn in for deposit. Took the deposit money and bought .22 ammo and went plinking up and down the side of the hill all afternoon with that little gun. Now THAT was a way to spend a summer day
