I lived in Aurora and loved it. I always thought Ohio was an underrated state. Between the parks, the rivers and the history, it's really quite beautiful.

I did that. Took both at the same time. It didn't work out well.

I agree on Ohio and I live here!
My others are Illinois, New jersey (The Garbage State) and New York.
Too many libs in those last three for my tastes. Not to mention the laws there are just ridiculous. Don't even get me started on the people there.

I've noticed most vets I know don't like the state that they had basic training. It is usually because of the weather. Too hot or too cold ect. I won't mention the states name, but I had basic at Fort Knox it was either raining or sleeting or some kind of nasty wet snow plus the wind. My last day there the sun came out. I can say good things about Kentucky (oops I said it) but the weather isn't one of them!

NJ and Chris Christie deserve each other. Let's quarantine them both, it's for the children.

I can't take credit for that beautiful picture, but I have been at the Chisos Mountain Lodge in B.B.N.P. at the spot where the picture was taken. Cabin #103 at the lodge faces this beautiful spot in the Chisos Mountains. Here is a beautiful night picture full of stars in Big Bend National Park...

Thanks for another great photo. I went to Big Bend once when I lived in Austin and would have gone many more times had it been closer. A park ranger at the Grand Canyon once told me that Big Bend and Isle Royale (MI) are the two parks with the least visitors.

SC probably is my least favorite state.
The roads are terrible, every windshield is cracked, Myrtle Beach is full of broken glass, and it smells bad.

Maryland, especially Baltimore. Polluted, corrupt, socialist, and the women are ugly. No wonder Poe was boning his cousin.

Move along..

Illinois...lived there a good long while "back in the day".
I would say Iowa, but I don't remember seeing anything in that state.

You can see that from every place not affected by light pollution. I saw the same on Mauna Kea Big Island HI and from some village in Ukraine I do not remember the name of. If you are not blinded by light of large city you can see Milky Way.

I would say it is a different world. It is the wild west....only....east. Only law enforcement is on Rt 1 and Rt 9. and there are 3 game wardens for all that area. You can just do whatever you want, as long as nobody gets hurt, it is fine. Even the state doesn't care, they thing Maine ends at Bangor.

I agree, truly boring as hell when I went through there in 93. My wife and I had just married and went to Yellowstone and came back through Iowa. Just boring is all we could say.
I have been to about 40 of the 50 states and found good and bad in each. And I preface this with I have never had a ticket in VA or even pulled over and haven't a speeding ticket in 25 yrs. I have to say Virginia is purely anal when it comes to anyone going 1 mph over the speed limit. Upon entering the state and each county there are signs everywhere giving your the riot act about any thoughts of speeding and hidden behind them are tiny welcome to xyz county, the friendly county. Makes me feel really welcome.
My sister lives in the Galax area of VA and has watched leo's get out with metal detectors to sweep their known hiding spots because people throw out bags of nails in the areas.

Omaha, NE is one of the finest places I have ever lived. I was stationed there from 1982 until 1988. The weather is awful, but the people make up for it. A great community!

A blind man would know when he's in Gary. Smells like ass there.
I hate everything about Chicago, except for the ticket prices to watch the Tigers whoop up on the Sox.
