glock 26
Hey fellas, im in the market for a glock 26. Found a new gen 3. Was wondering if they were any other differences besides the better feeling grip on the gen 4. Would i be ok with the gen3? Any reliability issues?

Your good to go with a Gen 3. The only difference in the two is the grip and mag release.

Get it! It's a good gun.
I have both Gen 3 and 4 26's and they are both very good.
No problems with either.
Go to http://us.glock.com/ to read about the differences between Gen 3 and 4. The 26 gen 3 already has the dual springs so it's mostly the grip that you will notice.

Difference is mag release, grip profile, and grip texture. I prefer the Gen 4 because of all those.
That said, the Gen 3 is just fine.

Shhhh! My Gen3 26 is two years old and doesn't know it can give problems -- because it hasn't given a one! It is my primary EDC weapon.

I can't speak for the gen 4 as i've never shot one but love my gen 3 g26. Bet you'll like either. The gen 3 felt good in my hand, was 80 bucks cheaper so went with it. I've had no problems with mine or regrets.
Enjoy your new Glock.

I have a gen 4 26 and I love it, but with that said I'd buy a gen 3 in a heartbeat if I didn't have one already. Both are awesome guns, it's just a preference.

I have both Gens 3&4 and the Gen3 is way better grip!
But you can also install Talon Grips on it!
The mag release is way too big on the Gen4 not for me!
I wish I coild get a gen3 in OD green frame!

Thanks fellas for the input .The truth of the matter is that i have a brand new unfired xd 9mm full size. I was thinking about trading it or selling it for the 26. But i thought i would keep it and just buy a 26!

I bought mine used for $300 two years ago. It is a Gen 3, and someone did a decent job of removing the trigger guard finger hook. No idea how many rounds through it when I bought, but probably not many.
I find I shoot it as well as a full sized 9mm...in fact, I spent a fun range visit outshooting my friend and his Browning HiPower, which he has shot for 20 years!
The G26 is a special pistol.

I have two Gen 3 G26's and both my wife and son carry these, also they are very accurate. Get the Gen3 you will be happy with it.

When comparing the price of a Gen3 vs a Gen4, make sure you take into account any difference in the number of magazines included.
