Now there is a good idea. The only thing I can add to that is we should expand the concept to all violent crimes, not limited to just the ones committed with guns.

"Common sense" gun control for a person who grew up hunting and in shooting sports is going to be radically different than someone in a big city who has never seen a gun let alone fired one.

The problem with that idea is that you are already succumbing to the liberal mindset that guns are somehow *different* than any other tool that could be used to facilitate a crime. Why should a person who kills another with a gun be treated differently than the person who does it with an axe or even a baseball bat? Punish the action, not the tool used to facilitate the action.

Maybe Libs should note that laws against murder are on the books. Have been for two hundred plus years in this country. Don't seem to be working well. I wonder why?
