Cheap Red Dot Pistol: Beretta Neos .22
I was in the market for a cheap .22 pistol and picked up this one new from a private sale locally. It's a nice shooter and comes with a weaver rail on top. My Burris FF3 was collecting dust on my .223 rifle due to the ammo situation so I put it on the Beretta.
I see alot of people looking into red dots for pistols and here is a cheap and easy way to get into it. No expensive mounts and no gunsmithing. The rail doesn't move with the slide on this gun so you can even put a $40 sightmark up there.

I had a 6" Neos and it was a great shooter (sold it to a buddy who *really* wanted it). Putting a red dot on it made it almost too easy to shoot. Some thinks the looks are a bit too much sci-fi "ray gun"; however I liked it.
Congrats on the new pistol!

Glad you got a good one, mine was an absolute POS and it got sold very quickly.

I have a Neos and it has been a total and complete jam-o-matic since day 1. The take down screw will back out a little bit after firing maybe one magazine, throwing the feed ramp just a hair out of alignment. If you don't stop and torque the screw down again the thing will FTF pretty much every round.
I should send mine back to Beretta, but it was a gift and I have other .22s I like much better and shoot more, so I don't care about it too much.
I did have a red dot on it at one point and it was cool, hit where it was pointed. When it wanted to work anyway. I've never had great luck with Beretta. Even my Nano, which I love, has given me its fair share of grief.

One of my .22 Suppressor hosts -
If there were a way to co-witness iron sights on one of these .22's, it would be perfect. Otherwise, you end up spending a lot of time "chasing the dot".

BSA recently came out with a 20mm Red Dot. The price was $20 a few months ago but the way CTD is jacking up prices I don't know what they are now.
I like the things so well I bought about a dozen for my handguns and rifles and about 6 for friend's guns.
They seem to be tough. Today we had one on a 12 ga shotgun.
I haven't shot it a whole lot but the Neos has been a decent gun so far. Especially as inexpensive as it is.

Nice looking pistols. Glad to see there are so may options with rails. I kind of lucked in to getting a rail pistol because I wasn't even shopping for one. This is my first .22 pistol and I grabbed the first decent price I found because I was tired of shooting with just my "finger gun" at the range and people were starting to look at me funny.
I'd love to get one of those $20 optics but it doesn't look like CTD has that deal anymore. Probably won't be any "deals" for about 4 more years.

Very nice!
I have a Burris Fastfire II on my Ruger MKIII, and it is a very fun combo. Putting the red dot on it greatly extends its range and accuracy over iron sights.
Like Airborne Infantryman mentioned, without co-witnnessed backup iron sights it takes a little time to pick up the dot with your eye. For a plinker its fine, but if your putting a red dot on a serious use pistol co witnessed iron sights are a MUST.
