A friend of mine has it. I noticed the patch he was wearing last summer at the lake. He said he's a new man. I didn't press the issue.

Didn't know you had "it" until you watched a lot of commercials, huh?

Now you NEED some drugs?!

Was your doctor whistling a happy tune?

Get with your GP. Have a blood test. Start with that measurement. Get a recommended dosage. I recommend the shots if you can either get into the doctor to have the done, or trust your wife to learn how to inject you. That's real fun when they accidentally play pin the tail on the siatica. Then a couple weeks later get your blood drawn again. That way they can measure the levels to see if they need to up the dosage.

You are in my age range, so it happens, it is called "mano-pause," complete with hot flashes and all. So, when your wife hits menopaus and complains you don't understand hot flahses. Uh, yes, you do.

There are side effects that come with hormone injections. You have the possibility of moobs, and your swimmers are not as effecgive. But, how wants a babay at our age?

Taking a daily dosage of zinc combats the tendency for moobs.

They say you can be more irritable. I suppose on some days I can be, but not roid rage irritable. They do make you a lot hornier. So, hopefully, your wife can go along with that program. I don't have any issues there.

Had hip injections for a couple of years. Nurses were good with needles.

No problems.

When I was morbidly obese 6 yrs ago my T levels were as low as the doctor has ever seen in a 43 old male.

I used shots first, did not like.

I used the cream, with little improvement.

I used the patches with some success, then the doctor doubled the dose and my T levels went up to low-normal but I devolved a rash at the site of the patch so I read about guys cutting the patch open and using the jell inside (The jell inside is stronger than the cream). The doc approved and the levels were up to near normal with only a few minor side effects.

I did all this during the time I was a full time dad, with a little girl, now 7.

Docs advice was to put it on at night, on my chest and stomach, right before bed and after last contact with my daughter. Shower and clean shirt in the morning.

Side effects were interesting.

With my levels so high (for me anyways) I was a "pest" to my wife, to put it mildly. WI was EXTREMELY preoccupied with every female within my line of sight.

And I got into a street fight right when I started the shots. My temper was very elevated.

But once I lost a ton of weight (80lbs) my levels stayed up to near normal with less and less of the jell/patch.

Increased muscle mass and something resembling being shape and I only have to use the jell every other day or every three days to keep the levels up.

I became aggressive after the shots, little bit of road rage and the like. Didn't like the results.

Look into the patch. I have to use it because my levels were below 200(in a 28 y/o male). The doc thinks that the pain meds in combination with CFS and Fibro depleted the levels. I'm on 6mg a day, 2 patches. The patches don't have the contact issues that the gel has, but they can do a number on your skin, my advice is benedryl cream if you get the redness. Good luck, and I hope it works.

By the way FAA it depends on the person. Yes there are side affects, yes they can be severe, but if someone is losing energy and self reliance it's worth the risk.

It started with a blood test during annual physical. Doc is a close personal friend who I trust implicitly.

Sits me down and shows me a chart with lines he'd drawn all over it.

This is where you probably were at 17.

This is where we'd expect you to be at 42.

(Goes way down chart)

Here's where you are. (Bottom of chart)

"Well ill be damned, does that explain.....?"

Yes

He trained in a couple different parts of the country said he's never seen so many low T youngish males as he does in Louisiana. Believes its something in environment.

Gave me my choices: injections

Wants me to inject myself. Not sure I can do that. Wife can inject me in the mouth I guess....

Is this something that a Doctor automatically checks? I've never heard my Dr say a word about it. I get my blood tested every 6 months for my Hypothyroidism. Do they look at the Testoterone levels without you asking them to? Will they just tell you it's low?

The gel is in a self contained unit that's covered, it uses an adhesive to stick to the skin. It's waterproof as well.
