Breaking in my new G23

I'm new here to Glocktalk. Been reading all of the posts about folks breaking in new guns. Took my new G23 Gen 3 to the range today. In love with this new gun. All I need now are some new sights and a few hundred rounds of ammo. Hope this ammo shortage ends soon.

My EDC is a G27, but the 23 will probably be my winter carry gun. I can conceal the 27 with no problem, but the 23 will a bit tougher for me.

G23 gen 4 is my first and only handgun. I'm fairly new, what's the reason for new sights?

Ah the 23 !!

I still carry a Gen 3 23 and love everything about it.

I have Mepro's installed now for 13 years. Still bright and durable. Lots of choices for you, most of them are flawless.

Choose based on size, orientation and what you want out of them

Good luck

Welcome to GT and congrats on your new 23. I have and highly recommend Trijicon HD night sights.

I have tried four different sights on three of my gen3 carry Glocks (two G23's and a G19) and for me, the best of the lot are the Trijicon night sights, #GL01. The others were;

o Standard Glock Sights.
o Standard Glock night sights.
o Warren Sevigny tactical night sights.

Standard Glock sights. With the relatively short sight radius of the G19-23, the front sight lets very little light escape around its post to be seen in the rear aperture for me.

Standard Glock night sights. Same as above.

Warren Sevigny Tactical night sights. Front post is too tall as is the rear sight and the rear sight slants rearward with sharp edges. Also the front post is too small for rear aperture for me which make it harder to center the post in the rear notch.

The Triijicon GL01 night sights meet all of my requirements for sights on my carry G19-23 Glocks and those are the best I have tried. Nice low profile, no sharp corners or edges, easy and quick sight alignment, and not too bright in the dark.... just bright enough. And the lamp outlines are not overpowering.
