G21 Gen4 GTG?

My bday is coming up and I'm thinking about purchasing one of these, especially since i already panic bought 3 mags for it. I had bad luck with a gen4 g34, but good luck with a gen4 g26, so I think I'll give a gen4 another try. Can those who own a gen4 g21 post their experiences?

please post: Ammo used, amount of rounds fired to date, spent brass test fire date, ejection pattern, etc?

thanks in advance.

I bought mine a few weeks back (received it I should say, ordered it back in January) and it's test fire date was 1-22-13. I used mostly Federal and whatever the range had (230 gr) when I first took it to the range, but only fired around 150 rds. Casings were a little sporadic at first, maybe the first few, but they quickly started landing in the same spot over and behind me to my five o'clock. I love the feel of this gun when shooting; it's just so easy to point and shoot where you want. Don't be surprised (if you have other new Glocks you will know this) that the slide STOP is tough if you try to use your finger to release the slide. It's much easier to just pull back a little. Have fun with it!

Good to go! Most of the gen4 problems has been with the 9mm. I have one, don't want to go look for the box and the date, but mine has many, many flawless rounds through it.

Buy with confidence.

No probs. with mine. The duel RSA makes a lot of difference in the felt recoil.

I'm guessing not many people own g21s. So far everything seems good, although if I remember correctly I've read a post where at least 2 members have had bad experiences.

Own four 21 GEN4's, all dated mid-October 2012 to mid-January 2013.

#1 - A tad north of 2,500rds.
100rds of Cor-Bon 185gr DPX and the balance my reloads.
Not a single failure of any type.
Consistent ejection 2' to 4:30 w/reloads and 4' to 4:30 with the Cor-Bon.

#2 - 1200rds +/- a few.
60rds of Cor-Bon 185gr DPX and the balance my reloads.
Not a single failure of any type.
Consistent ejection 2' to 4:30 w/reloads and 4' to 4:30 with the Cor-Bon.

#3 and #4 - Both dry fired a bunch, but unfired as of yet.

Previous to the 21 GEN4's, I owned 21SF's.

The GEN4 definitely has a softer recoil impulse.
Ejection is near identical to the 21SF's.
And now that I've had some trigger time with the larger magazine release and the GEN4 texture, I prefer them both to GEN3.

These are my opinions based on my personal experience. Others mileage may vary.

I purchased a Gen 4 21 about a year and a half ago and have 500 trouble free rounds through it. It shot about 1 1/2 inches high at 15 yards. I now have Express sights on it and I like them on this gun. The 21 is sweet and is a keeper. Buy without concern.

Regards,
Chuck

I have about 500-600 rounds thru my gen4 G21. Not a single malfunction with a bunch of different brands/types of range and hollow point ammo. Along with an FNH .45 tactical, it's the softest shooting .45 I've ever shot. One of these days, when it's been out for about 30 years, someone will make a grip plug for it. I am not going to hold my breath.

My Gen4 21 has been perfect. My only complaint is the cost of ammo and I can't hold Glock responsible for that.

Bought my G21 Gen 4 in Feb. 2012.
Right around 2500 rounds through it.
I remember the first range trip...
First 200 were Federal FMJ
The next 50 were HST's.
After that, I'm positive that I've put 1500 PMC FMJ and 500 Tula FMJ, because I remember purchasing those in bulk at gun shows. The rest has been Federal or Remington range ammo that I buy at the range I go to now.

No BTF, not one single malfunction, no breakages or anything. That Glock has more rounds through it than any other that I have. Favorite Glock.
