Yes it's a shot to the pelvis to drop someone. Somtimes referred to as a "mobility stop". But a famous F.B.I. Agent from many years ago named Jelly Bryce once was heard to say somethimg to the effect of "I have never shot a man in the nuts and had him stand up afterwards".

Pelvic girdle. If you are shooting at the level some of those guys shoot, it is a good place to put someone down without killing them. They'll probably be ****ting in a bag, but they can be squeezed for intel.

When I was in the Marine Corps during the time we were playing Policemen in SE Asia, in the Republic of Viet Nam. U.S.M.C. Force Recon had their own armory, and it was pack full of stuff line Marine did not have. The M-14 was replaced with the M-16 for Line aka Grunt Marines, but the Force Recon Teams carried the M-16, Mini 16's, M-14's, BAR's, and even a few chose to carry AK-47's and other interesting things.

Just don’t get you panties wet if you see some Special Forces Personal carrying Unconventional Weapons, as they are Special People who have a lot more training than the want to be Keyboard Commandos on Gun Forums.

Most of the Special Op Personal will never brag about what they did, how many kills they had, or were they were. If they have chest full of medals it is from doing a job well, being recognized for what was just doing their job, and most care little about the recognition, or the medals.

Nothing wrong with the Glock but why pay to replace the Berettas in use when they serve perfectly fine? I really don't see any benefit to doing so.

Just for ****s and giggles while looking though current NSN's i found this 1005-01-X90-2685 RIFLE, 1903 SERIES: 30 CAL 1903 MK1. I wonder what would happened if i orded one.

I'm all for "America first" BUT...let's review. Who made the SAW that has served so many units so faithfully? Wasn't that FN? Who originally desgned and made all the Sigs so many SpecOps units hold so dear?

Personally I would rather see our military use the best weapons available. If it was your life on the line...no matter the maker...wouldn't you want what was rated among the best?

Carrying Glocks or similar designs makes sense for the military for the same reasons that it makes sense for civilians. Glocks are light, they hold a lot of rounds, and they work. Whether you're on an assault team or going to the grocery store, saving weight where you can is attractive.

Glock has refused to do this, and why shouldn't they? They have more than enough business world wide and they are still backordered. Hell, everyone uses them but us.

Special Forces bypasses normal military channels for procurement; they get whatever they want with a huge budget to boot. So that is why you will see them with HK-416s, glocks, 1911s, or whatever else they feel like.

In that pic he's an SFARTAETC Instructor, they use Glock 19's - students who graduate the course normally end up assigned to their Group's designated CIF where they also issue Glock 19's (some also have a small number of 1911's, not as popuplar a weapon as internet lore would have you believe, just not as reliable). A lot of the teams (SF) have Glock 19's and 26's, you don't see too many G17's in use. They're used in smaller numbers, a deep concealment/plainclothes piece for when you'd need that in a weapon say if you're doing SR/Recce type tasks - they're good what they are. SF and MARSOC have them and a few other units that need that in a weapon, on some posts you'll even see CID Agents carrying Glocks.

USCG still has SMALL numbers of M9's for specific assignments, they issue Sig P229R DAK's in .40 ever since they got made a part of DHS....
