Who's Ready for the Blizzard of 2013?
In my area of north Jersey its calling for 10-16" of snow with areas in upstate NY and the NE 24"+.
Cars full of fuel - CHECK, 5 gallon gas cans for snow blower and generator filled - CHECK, salt - CHECK, grocery shopping done - CHECK.

I just had a few friends head out that way for some snow boarding this weekend. I'm glad I passed.

65 here. There is a 50% chance of rain tomorrow, which is keeping me from washing my very dirty car.

18-24" expected here. We are heading out to Philly tonight and coming home sunday so we will miss all of it.
Last time I was in philly was October 2011. Major snow storm hits the northeast. Guess its my fault.

FOX and the other networks will hype this up as the storm of the century. After all, it never snows in the winter in the NE.

The weather channel started "naming" storms now. A month (or so) ago, they had a "storm specialist" in Wisconsin. Believe it, or not, they had SNOW! and it was COLD! The reporter had a ruler and showed the FIVE INCHES! that was inundating the state.
(At one point, you could see kids in sweatshirts in the background, laughing and making faces behind the guy's back.)

I heard this storm was named "Nemo" ,
I hope the hype falls short for our east coast Gt'ers.
Best of luck, stay warm and safe!

I'm in Connecticut now and heading up to Vermont for some snowmobiling and skiing this weekend. I'm hoping for two feet of snow in the mountains.

Ready? No. Will I make it? Yeah. 24" isn't a big storm in the modern era. '78 taught DPWs a lot.

24-30" of snow forecasted for my area. Figures, since I have been out of work all week because I injured my back last Friday. I go back Sunday and I have to shovel 2 feet of snow before then. Might be out next week too. I hate snow!

Somewhere around then in SW PA (I was a kid) we luckily had a walk-in basement back door.
You could open the windows in the front of the house but it didn't do any good. The snow was drifted up on that side until our whole front yard and house was just one big smooth hill.
(We built a snow sled run about 50 yards long. Completely in a tunnel. When you're lost in a snowdrift, no one can hear you scream. You can barely hear yourself.)

75 degrees and sunny in Tucson today. I OC my S&W airweight and as usual, no one noticed.
I don't miss the North east. And I CERTAINLY don't miss the armpit of the continental United States - New Jersey.

How do you ride a snowmobile in 75 degrees?

They're calling for 18"-24" or more here. I have beer, a well stocked liquor cabinet, a bunch of canned and dry food, a camp stove, and sleeping bags rated to -40. I'm ready for whatever happens.

I could care less about the 2-2.5 feet we're supposed to get here in southern NH. My Jeep Grand Cherokee eats that stuff up. I'm more worried about losing power and having to wait a week before it's returned. This is NOT the time of year to be without heat, running water (well), TV, the Internet.....
I also have a collection of high end boa constrictors tht hotels aren't crazy about. Try sneaking in 18 boas. The last time I went through that, I had over 55 of them and one adult female got out of her enclosure and hid inside the dashboard of my car. Had to go to an auto interior place to take it apart and find her. Here's a pic of my wife holding her in their shop. Notice the guys all have their hands in their pockets. The owner was in the background running around scared like a little girl while my wife handled it LOL!
