Holy ****!!!! What a shame. I hope he had an iron clad deal with his publisher for his family's sake. Extremely sad.

Man, how sad.

Whatever the circumstances leading up to his death, he served his country more than most do -even many in the service. For this service and dedication to his country I thank him for his service, and extend my condolences to his family and band of brothers and sisters in/out of uniform.

Clearly we are diminished.

Sounds like they have a suspect in custody already, should be really interesting.

I am thinking that the murder was likely something more mundane, perhaps a fight over a woman or business deal gone sour.

One of the more recent articles I saw said that him and his neighbor were at the range helping a soldier with PTSD. No word on if the shooter had anything to do with them or was a carjacker, or what, but the shooter was arrested driving Chris Kyle's truck.

This is just terrible. All that he survived through fighting for his country to be murdered at home like this. Rest in peace brother!

RIP Chief Kyle
I don't know if I idolized the man or not, but compared to all the people out there making headlines Chief Kyle was definitely a hero of mine.

The report I read said the soldier with PTSD they were working with shot them both. Even more tragic, if possible, if that is the way it happened.

The place where this happened is a high class resort/hunting lodge where the cheapest room is over $500 a night! Look up Rough Creek Lodge for details.

However, it is like a meca for shooting/hunting enthusiast.

Looks like the guy who shot them was taken to the range by them. Here's a story out of Fort Worth, near where it happened

Sad day for America. Hero killed not in combat but on his own turf by another member of military. I purchased CK book when it came out and a very good read. RIP Chief.

One report I read stated that there were wittnesses but details or a possible motive have not been released at this time.
