Start now. Mine is dying to get into competitive shooting already. She is great with a .22 but 9mm is still too much for her. When I get into reloading and can really dial down a load for her I think she could get on target.
Nice job. You already cured her of low-and-left.

My wife isnt exactly pro-gun. She isnt anti-gun. Just neutral.

I shoot prairie dogs at her parents house. She understands why they need to be shot and killed, but she also doesnt like just killing something. She refuses to eat elk because she thinks something is wrong with wild meat. She believes meat comes between the styrofoam packaging and the plastic wrap. She doesnt like meat on a bone.

My kid doesnt understand why we (her grandfather and I) must kill the prairie dogs because they are cute and cuddly like her guinea pig.

This is why.

I'm thinking my daughter will start shooting my old youth .22 when she's 4 or 5. That's when I started.

Also, each kid is different. My kid still has problems following directions at 8. She was not anywhere near responsible enough at 4 or 5 to shoot anything.

Hmmmmmm........sounds like my wife! I've noticed she has made a couple of trips to Germany/Colorado!

My 21 y/o daughter has finally discovered firearms. I kept her involved, without tying a gun to her hand, her whole life. We went out last week and she picked out a deep pink/fuchsia Sig Mosquito. She likes the control of the 22lr; however, is looking for a 9mm to carry after she turns 21. Her grandfather and I have taken her out to the shooting range multiple times; however, in December it all clicked.

This makes 3 (two girls/one boy) out of 4 that are involved in shooting to some extent and understand the in/outs of the 2A.

Life is Good!
