Wow is right!
Not one young person at that meeting that I could see (maybe they were hiding). If the younger men do not step up at this critical time against the weapons bans we are all doomed.

You know what is cool about America? It's a REPUBLIC. That means there are 50 themes to choose from. You are FREE at any time to leave New York if you don't like it. Exercise your rights and stop complaining.

So 50 states get to interpret the Bill of Rights as they see fit?

I have a theory about that.....the young men of today are so confused about what freedom is, and what role men of older generations played in preserving that freedom, that less of them than ever before will be willing to step up to the plate. That is, IF this government makes the choice between freedom and something else necessary.
Don't get me wrong......some of our young men we can admire and be proud of, but it just seems like less and less have the "American spirit", with each passing generation.

Sorry, this is not the time to run. This is the time to stand and fight. Complaining is fighting. 1st it's NY then it's the rest of us. NY I stand behind you. See the quote below.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

So if it happened in Florida you would just quit your job, leave everything you know including friends and any family just like that? These people sure don't want to and NY has pushed them just a tad too far. Never thought someone was complaining when it was about a right being taken away.

You would think they would have a penalty set up already to something that is clearly going to have issues with citizen compliance. They should have waited to have their press conference and the slapping themselves on their own backs announcing this mess of a law and wrote a complete law first. Serves them right to be made fools of like this.

Don't confuse Buffalo and the rest of Western New York with the libs in New York City and the Eastern Counties. Western New Yorkers have been subjected to the whims of the liberals elected by these easterners for years.

As much as I agree with you in principle, that 's easy to say and for many, very hard to do.
I cannot believe that this outrageous law will stand up to appeal. I think the first time it gets to a Federal court it will be overturned. Of course the loosers in Albany will spend the citizen's tax money defending and they will simply loose. They don't care, they'll just raise taxes to recoup the cost of appeals.
With all the lawyers in typical state legislatures, it's simply incredible that they could pass such a piece of garbage. Hey, dorks, every hear of Heller v DC and McDonald v Chicago? The restrictions in the NY law are not by any means "reasonable" using Justice Scalia's majority opinion in Heller. Buffoons.
NY just cemented it's reputation for the most dysfunctional legislature in the nation. Don

It is disturbing not to see younger people there. Most of the people I see there have more than likely been to war and know the cost of freedom. I fear there are quite a few younger people that take there freedoms for granted. It's time for the younger folks to stop talking Sh** and stand up for what they believe in before it's all gone. If you won't stand up in a discussion and tell it like it is then you won't stand up when it matters. I'm not talking all younger folks here, far from it, but you young ones need to get your buddies involved in these things.

Actually, those old boys are probably getting pretty crotchety, bored, with really nothing to lose, and been thinking about wars past. They have experience, were brought up in, and taught about a different America than the one we live in now. They have seen whats been going on, and whats been lost, and where all this is going.
They are much more dangerous than any other age group.

the NY Safe Act will not get struck down by federal courts in NY, they are just as loaded with liberals as the state govt. This case will have to go to the Supreme Court before Scalia or Kennedy retire or pass away to have any chance of repeal.

You make a good point--but at the same time, lots of us young guys are written off by the "old" guys and they don't want to mentor us in anything--so it's a two sided road.

It's because most young white men of today had parents that made it so easy for them. Many went off to colleges which were nothing more than socialist training camps and came out believing a lie. The reason older generations were ready to stand and fight is because they had to. We live in a white society that thinks that if they give the NRA a dollar they have done their job. I am white and certainly not a racist but I am here to tell you that the average white guy under the age of 50 ain't got enough guts to stand up and be counted for anything(right or wrong).

The best thing for the immediate time is for a large body of the population in upstate New York to perform mass civil disobedience; send their message to their employees (i.e., public servants) that they will NOT abide by ANY unconstitutional laws, regardless of what the communists in Albany (in the words of one of the citizens on the video), or New York City, say.
