Any plans for a compact .45?
Does anyone know if Glock is planning to produce a .45 caliber pistol in a compact size (similar to a G19). The G21 is full size, the G30 is subcompact, and there seems to be a place for a G19size chambered in .45.
I know I would by one for carry purposes as long as it wasn't as heavy as the G21.

Yes, the G36 if you're not familiar.
Single stack .45, G19 sized, 6 round mag.

I thought the g30 was the same size as the 26, with two finger grooves? Whereas the 19 has 3 grooves.

The G38 is the G19 sized 45. 45 GAP. Don't hold your breath waiting for such a model in ACP.

The 36 is not 19 comparable. The 38 GAP is not ACP. When or IF Glock comes out with a 29/23 .45 ACP model... I will buy two.

As said the G19 and the G30 are fairly similar in size and the G36 is in the same general area but obviously thinner than the G30. To me the G39 is a bit closer to subcompact size when the subcompacts include the G26. My guess is that a Glock in between the sizes of the G30 and the G21 is going to be after the carbine and probably even after the single stack 9 and the full size single stack .45.

I always thought the G30 was a dr Jekyll and Hyde
With 10 round mag it's a compact, with a 9 round Mag its more towards subcompact

G21, G30 and G36 pretty well cover the 45acp.

OAL of a G21 is 8.23 inches
OAL of a G30 is 6.97 inches
That is a difference of only 1.26 inches
Would you really want a .45acp that was 0.63 inches longer than a G30?
By the way, a G19 has an OAL of 7.36 inches--slightly longer than a G30

G30 Gen4 with a G36 sized slide on it, right out of the box. Call it a G30T (thin). I'd buy a pair right now.

No, nowhere near the same size.
19 and 36 yes, 19 and the 30? Maybe, but the 30 is fatter, even the 30SF.

For me, the G30SF fills the role for a Glock .45acp compact.

I would just go into your lgs and hold them side by side (19/30) if you like the size of the 19 the 30 will do you fine. Fwiw I use the same crossbreed for both my 19/30
