"Strike Back" on Cinemax
If you like non-stop gun fire, violence, excitement you just might enjoy this show, Strike Back. This show has been on for a couple of seasons, but I only "discovered" recently. I just finished watching all episodes of Strike Back Season 1 on Cinemax On Demand. I saw all the episodes in the past 3-4 days.
This morning I started watching Season 2 ... and will probably watch a couple of episodes a day right through the Season 2 final show.
Anyone out there familiar with this show? Try it and let us know what you think.....

Yep, started watching it when it first premiered. Can't wait for season three to start.
The new show Banshee on Max is also good, but not quite as gun-centric.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen as much gunfire per minute as in Strike Back. And I agree with you about Banshee... it is good.

Strike Back is phenomenal. It is like a live action Vince Flynn novel. One of the best action shows I can remember. I hope they make a third season.
Banshee seems pretty good. I haven't formed an opinion yet.

I only caught a couple episodes from the first season on Cinemax (which is actually Season 2 of the series-Season one was on BBC).
There was a scene in the episode where a terrorist group takes over a hotel and the American character neutralizes two terrorists in an upper floor hallway, and takes their weapons. Before leaving, he puts some more rounds into each of the bad guys, who are unconscious on the floor.
I liked that scene because it was what Delta or SAS would do in a situation like that, unlike a typical hollywood movie where the good guys leave the terrorist tied up but alive.

Strike Back really moves fast..... you have to be alert the whole show or you will miss lots of key things.... (or at least I do).
I find Banshee to be growing on me.... I like it.

I laugh at the way they ninja combat walk everywhere, but the violence and excessive nudity rejoices my faith in cable television.

I was in Walmart and saw the season 1 dvd for sale. My first thought was, "Skinemax is still around?" I remember when I was a kid in the 80's it seemed like everything on Cinemax was soft core porn.

Website says $29.96 but I could've sworn my local store had it for $25.

Great show
I love Strikeback. It is one of my favorite shows. I am glad others have discovered it as well. What's funny is that the Delta operator is actually Australian and the SAS guy is American. On season 2 after each show they have brief interviews with the two main guys and the Delta member just smokes cigs and cusses the whole time. It's like every Australian actor tries to be Russel Crowe. I can't imagine that most GT members would not enjoy this show. I highly recommend it.

I actually bought a region free dvd player so I could watch the original season. While it is pretty good, I think the "Cinemax" seasons are better. And you don't need to see it to enjoy the rest, only one character crosses over.
Any word on when the next season comes out?

I was to disagree but then I remembered Tom Cruise's character in Collateral was a bad guy. I was thinking the alley scene where he killed the two miscreants that tried to take his briefcase.

Which of you researched the actors, directors and producers of this series to find out if they were anti-gun hypocrites? I won't watch HBO as long as they let Bill Mahr have a show.

One of my absolute favorite shows. I also like Banshee. If you haven't seen it, "XIII" is currently in reruns and is another goodie. If any of you are Seagal fans, his series "True Justice" on REELZ channel isn't bad either.

Yesterday (Saturday) I watched six episodes of Cinemax Strike Back Season Two. Greatest (almost sustained) gunfire action I've ever seen. This show doesn't hold back.
Four episodes to go for Season 2. I really need to make them last a few days. I'm almost blind....

Agreed. Good show but I wouldn't call the nudity excessive.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw this thread and promptly watched the entire six episode first season today. I'll start on season two tomorrow.
Great show. I'm definitely hooked.
