Where or what country would you go to if the USA
Goes to crap any more. I have often ponder this question, as let say the Good Ship USA is like a Ship in the water with broken prop, and no captain on the bridge to fix the problems.

If it goes to crap even more, I'll stay here...and battle the roving gangs for fuel like Mad Max.
It's this continual feeling that it's about to go down the drain that aggravates me.
Besides, what we are worried about happening here has already happened everywhere else (assuming your worry is authoritarian government and loss of freedom, like mine). There's no place to go but down.

Mars. no government to rain on my parade up there.
maybe Canada...they have figured out that to keep thriving they need to stop trying to act like the USA.

Too old and cold to leave. Being only ten minutes out of Canada is tempting.

I'd stay put here in Alaska. Next to America, this is the only other country worth living in.

I'd take all my guns, round some some hard core mofos and take over a little tropical island, declare myself to be potentate-for-life and make the villagers submit their virgin women to me and the homies.

A girlfriend of mine is pushing for Ecuador. I'm not sold, it's too unstable.
If it got really bad the poo would soil Canada as well, so no to Canada.
I'm not ready to give up on the United States. This country was founded on the courage and blood of free thinking people. Humans who didn't think they should have a tyrannical ruling class but thought they could put a government together that would represent freedom of the people.
Time has passed and the ruling class has been allowed to creep back in due to a weak and lazy populous. I think the future is obvious.

Don't worry boys.
I understand how most of ya feel. It's gotten to the point I'm ashamed to tell folks I'm retired military. IMO it was our duty to see that this Country survived even it's domestic troubles. Though I suppose nothing can or is supposed to matter more than it's voters (the one clog in it's machine maybe?).
But just remember, the pendulum always swings both ways. It may take a while, but swing back it will. It may not happen in our life time, but rest asured it will swing back.

I've been to the middle east, central and south america, asia, and europe. None of them are better than the USA, even with the current issues.
Stay here and fix it or run away like a little girl. Your choice.

So you are on a aircraft carrier. It has some minor damage (mainly senior crew)and you are going to jump overboard in 9' seas and hope to climb aboard a fishing boat? (where the crew are fighting each other/the motor is out, its taking on water.
If the captain/first officer is making decisions against the welfare of ship/crew. The only reasonable option is to remove them from being in charge.
Sadly at present they are keeping the passengers calm with free food/drinks/ stage shows. Once folks catch on.....

I could only see leaving if our monetary system collapses I think we would turn into something resembling Serbia as they lived in the 90s.
I don't know if there would be a country not affected and getting a visa into another country may not be an option.

I think the real question would be: what would the world look like if it came to US citizens having the leave the country? The day that I think things have become bad enough to leave will be a sad day for all the world to see.

I'm going to France
...figure we should be able to take them without much fuss
Seriously, I'd go to Canada. 90% of the people live within
100 miles of the US border. You can find me at mile 101

I have watched this country slowly circle the drain for years. The thing is we should have had a revolution years ago. When we finally do, it will make somalia/serbia/afghanistan look like disney world. There will be more shooting and killing than anyone can imagine. As far as another country maybe Panama or uruguay.

I would hunker down with the community and ride the storm out, eliminating low lifes as they try to take what we worked for. Funny this topic came up last night with some of my neighbors over a nice neat Scotch. Since we are out of the flow of normal traffic we all plan to work together and ride out the coming storm.
We all feel it, we know something bad is heading our way but none of us knows exactly what. So we are properly planning so as to prevent piss poor performance when it finally gets here.
