The above all offer both remanufactured and new brass ammo. Freedom is currently not taking any orders, but will be back online shortly after catching up on current backlog. The other two are taking orders, but shipping dates are from 1-2 months due to heavy backlog. I've used the Freedom ammo and it's good stuff, currently have two cases on order from Great Lakes.

Have you fired any of these remanufactured rounds through a Glock? Results?
What are the shipping charges from these suppliers?
Thanks!

I just did it. I bought a press, tumbler, scale, etc. and it cost me about $400. Check out the reloading sticky in the reloading forum. That's where I got all my info. I've been picking up brass every time I shoot so I have a nice little stash to get started.

LAX Gun Range.
Had a big ammo sale about two weeks ago.
I don't have the time to reload, so I just buy the factory reloads/new for target.

From my safe.
Seriously, anyone who did't stock up on ammo last summer was sleep walking.
I bought 2K of 115g Blazer Brass, 500 of 124 g +P Federal HST and 500 of 147g Fed. HST last summer. Cost me less than 1K of Blazer Brass would cost me now.
Stack it deep when it's cheap or weep when it's not.

I'm getting my 9mm from the ammo can in my closet. I thave about 2,000 rolled up with enough to make another 2,000 whenever I get around to it. As far as factory SD ammo I'm good to go. I did a count last week and have 400 124 +p GD's , 100 9BPLE, and 100 124 HST's. I'm good for awhile.

I bought a .22 pistol so I wouldnt have to shoot my 9mm
have around 1300 rds left of 9mm, no way im shooting any more.
only problem is that .22's are hard to find.
edit: I love that my Henry lever action can use .22 shorts. really helps out.

Why is it the people that don't have time to reload can find time to drive all over town looking for ammo?

I've thought the same thing many times. I also love the " I can't afford it " line. What they spend on gas and inflated ammo prices they could have a nice setup.

We're hunter gatherers. Reloading is like tending to the children and garden and we leave that to the females.
Now please tell my female to start reloading or I will club her

CF,
So, you're saying reloading is woman's work?
I think in many cases "I don't have time" is code for 'I'm not mechanically inclined enough'. Which, in that case it's a good thing. People who aren't mechanically skilled enough to reload, shouldn't. It's not safe.
I have to go back to my 'womans work' now . . .

I also love the comeback " components are just as hard to find as loaded ammo." Any serious reloader saw this coming long ago and stocked up on components. Hell, I got $500.00 worth of supplies today. My guy never runs out of anything.

You know i'm just funnin.
After this mess, I will start reloading. I can make the time.
I'm not in a desperate situation now but could certainly be better off and it makes sense to become more self-sufficient in this area.
And no, I'm not particularly mechanically inclined but if women can do it........

Yea, I try to learn from my experiences and the experiences of others.
I recall the primer scare of '93. I recall the Obamanation. So no, this shortage came as no surprise to the Catshooter household. I saw it coming right after King Bush was re-elected (yes I voted for him both times). Of course I thought that it would be Hitlery not some clown named Obama.
Fool me once . . .

Don't worry CF, I knew you were funning.
I love the independance that being able to cast & load gives me. In no way do I do it to save money. I do it so in the middle of the Obamanation if I deceide suddenly that I need three or four hundred rounds of 380 I just make it. 380 was unobtainium/vastly expensive at that time. I never thought I'd reload for it. But circumstances changed, so I fired up the lead pot and went to work.
Works for me.

I'm glad I stocked up the second week of November, I had a feeling it was going to be like 08, and it's worse! I got a supply of practice ammo for 9 and 223 with the intention of doing lots more practice, but with the current scare, I'm not doing much practicing Saving it til I can get more, or more components to reload what I have on hand, for a rainy day.
BTW Remember when you would go to a gun show to look for a good deal? The last couple of years it seem like the place to go if you want to get ripped off!
I went to a local show a few weeks ago and was absolutely appalled at the extortionist pricing some tables were charging, and getting, for bulk ammo. One guy was selling 1000 rd cases of 223 for $1000+ and selling it! The show was so crazy busy there wasn't even room to walk down the isles! I felt like When this thing blows over (in about a year if last time is any indicator) the people who paid those prices, or bought $2,000 AR's are going to feel a little foolish, but if it doesn't, they will be glad they did panic.
I sure hope the legislature realizes that if they pass a bunch of new gun legislation, most of them will have to get real jobs after their next election cycle.

People please. Why is this so difficult?
I believe the question was, where are you getting TARGET ammo? I certainly have a good supply of SD or duty ammo, but I don't stockpile practice ammo, I, uh, PRACTICE with it. And when I say practice, I don't mean once every 6 months. I mean 2 times a month at LEAST.
So, once again, are any of you finding PRACTICE ammo, and if so, when you answer the question, can you please actually answer by telling the rest of us the name of the company and if it's online or brick & mortar?

Wal-Mart. 50 rd. Federal $11.97/50 rd box – limit 3 boxes per day. 450 rds total for me. This is ball ammo, I've just gotten back into 9mm from .45acp.

I have not gotten any ammo from them. Prices seem fair. I did not sell everything so I may order a couple boxes.
