Hey everyone I'm just wondering if anyone has shot with wolf ammo? And if so is it any good I no price is cheap. Second, reloaded ammo, is it ok to shoot? Thanks!

Before they lock this "ammo" thread like the reloading ammo one below, some info.

Reload your own and control your own ammo supply. Easiest reload I have found yet for any 9mm Glock.

*Brass= my own fired brass and range pickup brass full length resized and deprimed.
*Primers= inside neck expand and prime with any WW, FC, CCI, or RP primer that is "small pistol"
*Bullets= 115 grain JHP or FMJ, 124 grain JHP or FMJ, 124 LRN (lead round nose)
*Powder= 4.1 grains Bullseye Pistol Powder with any of these three bullets.
*Normal power American level 9mm load with any of the three bullets.
*COAL= 1.100 to +0.002" in actual seating. No shorter.

I have used the 115 jacketed bullets when 124 jacketed were not readily available by the thousands. Remington Bulk from MidWayUSA in 2000s is the easiest order for good bullets.

Recently, jacketed bullets are on indeterminate backorder so I picked up a few thousand 124 grain LRN cast bullets measuring out at 0.355-6" and cast fairly hard.

They shoot to the same point of impact and as accurately as the jacketed without any leading in a M19 barrel and in a M17 barrel.

The three loads above shoot to the same zero almost and certainly close enough to never lose one outside an IPSC "A" zone center through 25 yards offhand. They also shoot to the same zero as the two guns sighted specifically for Fed147HydraShok in the M17 and for Hornady 135 Critical Duty in the M19.

Lee Carbine dies, Lyman cast iron press, powder via a RCBS Little Dandy with the rotor that throws 4.1 grains of Bullseye, #7 rotor on the RCBS chart. The fixed hole never screws up and never changes.

I've shot Wolf, Brown Bear, & Silver Bear with no problems. I like Silver Bear the most, but I've shot the least of it among the three. I also really like Aguila ammo. It costs a little more, but it is brass cased.

I've shot at least 10K Silver Bear rounds - found one inverted primer and maybe 2 that didn't ignite. At $179/1000 I was quite happy with it. G17/G26/G19 had no problems cycling it. It's low power and a little dirty. I haven't picked up any for a year or two though. Still going through some bargain S&B stuff I found last summer. Very good ammo if you can find it.

It should be fine for Glocks (if that's what you are shooting).

One issue I did run into at an indoor range -- they did not allow any steel case ammo. I'm sure it tainted their "free" collection of brass for reloading.

I have not had many problems shooting steel cased ammo in my Glock 19.

Unless its from a trusted source, avoid reloads.

I'll take Wolf for range ammo any day. I have never had a bad experience with Wolf. Many of my local ranges will not permit it because it does require them to seperate it from the Brass.

I use:.40 cal., .45 cal., 9mm. many 1,000's of rounds over the years.

I have picked up Wolf Brass ammo recently.

I have about 10K rounds of Wolf through my G19 and older 40 and 45 cal Glocks. I had the occasional FTE malfunction with some of the 40 cal stuff, but never a bit of trouble with the 9mm and 45. Also have 2-3K rounds of Wolf 223 through a few CAR-15s-again no issues, except for the stuff being dirtier than Western made fodder.

Reloaded ammo is great to shoot - AS LONG AS IT IS YOUR OWN, RELOADED BY YOU. I wouldn't trust other reloaded ammo in a million years.

Our range doesn't allow Wolf either. Their reasoning is that the type of metal used will ruin your gun over time.

Wolf works just fine. Just clean your Glock throughly afterwards. I have run thousands of rounds through Glocks and have been unable to detect no appreciable wear. The steel barrel is harder than the steel cased Wolf cartridges.

They are idiots and should be ignored.


I've shot more Wolf and Tula over the years (45acp & CommieX39) than all other brands combined and it is the only brand that has not given me a FTF or any other issue.

Yes. Couple thousand rounds each of 9mm and 7.62, with no failures that I can remember. I've always been told it's 'dirty' or 'cheap', but never had any problems.

Trust the reloads that you have personally and very carefully made. Never trust other reloads.
