Late night lurk at walmart
Played tennis last night till 9, and decided to visit a nearby Walmart to check the ammo cabinet. Checked the pallet in sporting goods and wow. Tula 9,.40, and .45. Also some Fed 9. Since nobody was working in sporting goods, I took 4 boxes of 9, and 3 boxes of .45 and walked over to electronics and paid. My wife laughs at me for these late night trips but there were 4 other people there with me.

case of Tula 9mm 115 gr, and 4 boxes of Fed 9mm 115 gr. Didnt see the Fed until after I had paid for the Tula. Dont shoot Tula that much, so I am not worried about potential damage from steel case. It is kinda dirty, but I clean my toys after every range trip so no biggie. Plus it was only 10.37/box

Nope not locked up. Sitting on a pallet amongst other sporting goods boxes. Just waiting for me. I could have taken a case over to electronics and bought it. The folks working in electronics know nothing of a 3 box limit.

I keep checking my local Walmart occasionally, no luck here.

Why?
I think locking up beautiful ammunition behind is pane of glass is a travesty.

Hell yeah! We're behind glass, but why bother? Still dry here.

Saw 2 100-round boxes of Winchester .45 ACP at my WalMart tonight...nothing else in the cabinet except for bizarre hunting combinations...

We were kidding with the manager at the local Walmart yesterday morning while 8 of us were waiting for sporting goods to open at 7:00 am. She went and brought us a dozen donuts. We tried to pay, put she said no way. What great customer service.
I scored 3 boxes of Federal .223 Value 100 packs at $34.99 each and a free donut.

Here in Colorado Springs, with pending firearms restrictions, we are standing in the wal-mart line waiting for the 8:00 distribution like we are on the dole. There are typically 20-40 people on the weekends. It is like feeding time at the zoo.

I feel cofident to call the OP on an innacurate story. I worked for WalMart for five years in the sporting goods counter (when we used to sell handguns). It is always been Wal-Mart Policy NOT to sell ammo after 10:00pm and before 6:00am. Merchandise is put out at 2:00am. That is also the time stockers empty the 18 wheelers outside on the back of the store.

You guys make me laugh. 10pm you talk about late. Want to lurk at Walmart "late", go at 2am. If you think the characters are odd during daytime hours, wait until you see what comes out of the woodwork at 2am.
It will make you cringe though. All the little kids, these kids have no sleep schedules I bet. What's worse is school age kids, on school nights, running around at 2-3am. You know they either won't go to school the next day or they will just sleep all day in class. It's not just one or two kids either, tons of them.

But none of the impending laws have anything to do with ammo sales.
My guess would be most of the people in line are speculators. They're rushing home and posting that ammo on Armslist for twice what they paid for it at Walmart.
