They aren't stupid, they know our leadership is weak. It's a little saber rattling to see how our dear leader will respond.

I may or may not have been making fun of their hardware while I was at the DMZ.

North Korea has nothing to worry about. Obama's too busy trying to disarm his own country at the moment....

How can experts tell the difference between a nuke test gone wrong, and a nuke bomb dropped by an unidentified foreign state?

NORAD watches everything like a hawk. They'd be able to identify where it came from.

1-Why would anyone become overly concerned with whatever the North Korean's have to say?
2-Our nukes are targeted at somebody (unless we just like to collect 'em). Nobodies getting their undies in a bunch over that.
Just sayin'...

A neighbor of mine is retired USAF weather recon and he flew in B-50s in the late fifties out of Japan. According to what he told me, the weren't looking at clouds, they were sniffing USSR bomb tests and they could tell from atmospherics alone how big the bomb was, what it was made of and if the final-assembly technician was right or left handed. really all they would have to do is open a state bank along the lines of the swiss banks. keep all accounts secret and back their dollar/wan with gold or silver. the world would beat a path to their door. if that was done... then the us government would see them as a threat.

Our experts claim that the U.S. has the capabilities of waging and sustaining two wars simultaneously.

My understanding of the whole thing is that if North Korea went to war with South Korea, South Korea would clean their clocks, even without US help.
Supposedly South Korea's military is pretty stout.

Without US intervention, North Korea would kick South Korea's ass badly.

Maybe back in the 50's but the ROK today is nothing to sneer at. Top of the line equipment and a entire population that has served in the military not to mention their training would cause a flurry of ACLU lawsuits if it was done to U.S soldiers

Not to mention I suspect the southern cousins would be a little more willing to fight vs. their hungry counterparts.

I was there for a year in 05, and the military presence at Osan did not leave a positive impression. Maybe things have changed in the last 8 years.

Starving counterparts... All you'd have to do is air drop steaks behind their lines and they would be to busy/grateful to fight back.
