I just saw Chris Kyle's funeral procession

I was just out on the side of I-35 and watched the hearse, news chopper, and long line of cops and bikes ride by. It was a really amazing thing to see. So many people stopping on the side of the road, and getting out of their cars with their hands over their hearts or saluting. Showing their respect to the fallen hero.
I wasn't expecting it to hit me like this, but I had a wave of emotion come on like a punch in the gut while I was out there. I felt so proud and hopeful seeing so many people, and at the same time, so sad over what happened.

Very sad.

I haven't seen too much followup info on what happened, or the shooter.

Thank you for showing respect and support for our fallen hero.

Fair winds, and following seas Chief Petty Officer Kyle.

Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh.
Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
From afar, drawing near
Falls the night.
Thanks and praise for our days
Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky
As we go, this we know
God is nigh.
When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. - George Santayana
