UN and America in gun control talk

Why am I seeing this topic in my news feed on FOX news? More important; why are we involved in these talks? As an American I don't care what another Country thinks about me or our gun laws as they stand. I am outraged that any American leader would sit at a UN discussion concerning American freedoms and rights.

You can thank Commie Obama for that. He is trying to get foreign troops into America because he is worried about our own troops not following his command to disarm all Americans. He just appointed a new head of our military, and the first question he asked of him was if he would fire on Americans if given the order. And of course this traitor said yes. That's how he got the job.

Foreign troops on US soil will not be tolorated by US citizens. I'm pretty sure we would send any foreign solder packing.

If the United States has the greatest fighting force on earth...how the hell could Obama think that a bunch of blue helmet foreigners could hold back a bunch of PISSED OFF dissidents, who the majority, used to be apart of that fighting force.

Bring it on UN.

I've written, called and e mail all of my representatives,I never received a reply from one of my senators until I sent him one on the UN arms treaty.
This particular Senator defines him self as a progressive/socialist, I refer to him as what he is a Communist.
After receiving his reply to me I now understand why I never received a reply on the Gun Control issue, here is his reply to me on the UN arms treaty.

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about the UN "Small Arms Treaty". I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this important issue.

In 2009, the United States government-to-government arms sales were nearly $40 billion. The US sells more military weapons worldwide than any other nation. U.S. contractors continue to be the top arms supplier for most foreign governments, including countries that until recently were barred from buying American weapons like India, Pakistan and Indonesia.

The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty would work to establish common international standards for import, export and transfer of conventional arms. The treaty seeks to establish a strong international standard to improve the current global situation by denying arms to those who would abuse them. This standard would operate under the rule of consensus decision-making. Consensus is needed to ensure the widest possible support for the Treaty to avoid loopholes in the Treaty that can be exploited by those wishing to export arms irresponsibly.

The trade of arms has helped to fuel conflicts in volatile regions, to endanger American soldiers fighting in these countries, and to lead to major human rights abuses. In today's conflicts, over 80 percent of all casualties are civilian and 90 percent of these are caused by small arms. It is troubling that some of the countries we help are run by oppressive and corrupt regimes, which have long records of human rights violations.

I firmly believe that Congress must become more active in shaping U.S. arms export policy, particularly with regard to countries that may present a threat to our security or that of our allies.

It is imperative that the United States does not engage in arms deals that threaten the security of this country and endanger the lives of civilians in developing nations. Instead, the U.S. must set an example for all nations to follow. Whether the UN Treaty is the best way to do this, or another route, rest assured I will do all I can to see that arms proliferation is reduced throughout the world.

Again, thank you for contacting me about this important issue. Feel free to contact me again in the future about this or any other subject of interest to you, or for up-to-date information on what my office is working on please visit http://www.sanders.senate.gov . While there, I invite you to sign up for my e-newsletter, the Bernie Buzz, at http://sanders.senate.gov/buzz/ . Please be aware that due to security screening procedures, postal mail to my office experiences delays that will lengthen the time it takes me to get back to you. The fastest way to contact my office is by calling 1-800-339-9834.

Sincerely,

BERNARD SANDERS
United States Senator

He is enlisting anti U.S. Constitution fighters from anywhere he can get them. If he agrees to mandates from the UN and gets Congress to shove it to the American people.

He can claim it is world sentiment that we Americans should be subservient to the UN, and the UN should dictate internal policy and citizen rights decisions for the United States, without the consideration of its citizens or the Constitution.

He can say that he is blameless because the UN made the mandate and Congress approved them. He has to go along with their controls of American rights. He can now blame the world for decisions he knew he could not get approved by going to the American public, so he tries coercion through treaty. The Senate is his and I'm not so sure the House isn't too.

He has shown through his words and deeds that he cannot be trusted with our rights and freedoms.

You guys do realize that this is export & importation of arms into & out of countries? Please show me where it says anything about having troops stationed in the US or anything to do with enforcing US gun laws....

Also, there seems to be a little misunderstanding here. America is not in a gun control talk with the UN. Just Commiebama and his minions are. Americans are not going to give up our guns, and we damn sure aren't going tolerate UN troops.

What Bernie Sanders doesn't get is, if we don't sell the weapons to make $$$, foreigners will by them from other countries like Russia, China, etc. I say sell 'em and keep our people working.

Also, read the actual ATT facts: http://www.state.gov/t/isn/armstradetreaty/
  • The Second Amendment to the Constitution must be upheld.
    • There will be no restrictions on civilian possession or trade of firearms otherwise permitted by law or protected by the U.S. Constitution.
    • There will be no dilution or diminishing of sovereign control over issues involving the private acquisition, ownership, or possession of firearms, which must remain matters of domestic law.
  • The U.S. will oppose provisions inconsistent with existing U.S. law or that would unduly interfere with our ability to import, export, or transfer arms in support of our national security and foreign policy interests.
  • The international arms trade is a legitimate commercial activity, and otherwise lawful commercial trade in arms must not be unduly hindered.
  • There will be no requirement for reporting on or marking and tracing of ammunition or explosives.
  • There will be no lowering of current international standards.
  • Existing nonproliferation and export control regimes must not be undermined.
  • The ATT negotiations must have consensus decision making to allow us to protect U.S. equities.
  • There will be no mandate for an international body to enforce an ATT.
So there ya have the facts - believe it or not, the State Dept is forcing Hilary Clinton to be in our corner.
